David W Posted May 27, 2021 Share Posted May 27, 2021 I echo what an earlier poster said regarding if we'd signed Docherty five years ago. He was a player who played for the best part-time teams in the country in Alloa/Dumbarton. A good player who could be put at left back, centre midfield or to provide balance at left midfield, and produce a 7 out of 10 every week. Exactly the sort we should be looking for just now. I'd be amazed if we're signing him to play left-back. He's not played there much for a while as his pace has gone. He's a good enough player that he'll fill in there at a push but up against a Calumn Morrison.... If we hadn't already, ridiculously, retained Nicoll, then I could see some value in this. I'd go back to my judgement which is whether any other team at this level would have signed him this summer. I don't think so. Gomis should be a decent pick up.
