Clyde FC; Season 2022-23

Recommended Posts

Fairly one sided game. Mitchell didn't have to make a single save.

Fitzpatrick started up top with Goodwillie. He won the header to lay off Goodwillie for the first goal. We were well on top for first 10-15 mins then the rest of half was like a friendly. Raised our game in the second half and controlled it.

Allison done well going forward but his crosses into the box were poor. Wasn't really tested defensively.

McNiff had a couple of shaky moments in first half but fine after that and scored once or twice, second might have been an og.

Grant, Love and Lamont all decent. Smith was offside constantly again.

Not really much to take from that. Motherwell, for LOLZ, included a first team left-back and we know Morrison the GK, but the rest of their side was made up of wee boys playing several years above their level. We weren't ever going to lose. Indeed, were it not for an absolutely dire last half-hour in the first half, we would have probably scored 6 or 7.

Howie played well covering for McNiff who looks completely drained of any confidence he had. Lamont and Grant were far too good for Motherwell in centre midfield. Goodwillie looks sharper every game. The rest were various shades of meh.

Good to get rid of one of those pointless international breaks, and hopefully get a decent tie.
