We at Gartcairn are pushing ahead trying to get two of these, expected costs between 10-15k each

Are there any other clubs realistically interested in these if we can work a deal?

Dm me if so

That seems quite expensive for a 30? seat container stand.  A second hand container costs around £2k.

The pre-fabricated stands available from specialist companies cost around £20-25k for 50-75 seats.

I'm sure someone at Gartcairn will know better than me but I'm sure they were looking at 2x100 seat stands.

If someone at Gartcairn - sctv? - were to make it clear whether it was £10k - £15k for the 32 seat stand shown in the photo or whether it was that price for the same sort of design but with nearer the 100 seats you mention then I'm pretty sure there must be teams out there who would be interested, at least in getting an official quote to allow fundraising targets to be set.

It's short for grandstand. Nothing to do with standing.

Yes, I know that, but why "grandstand" ?

Seems a bit obvious. I would have assumed the "grand" aspect was to do with scale, and the "stand" aspect is because that is what people done in them. Ergo, "Grandstand" = "Large structure where one would stand and partake in the spectation of sport".

People didn't normally stand in them. The stand meaning is a type of platform e.g bandstand.

So grandstand in modern language would be imposingplatform.

They were the posh seats in a sporting arena.

Maybe an idea to get a price for individual orders, and a price for a multiple order, inc details such as number of seats and if they can also be made as terracing as opposed to seating.

There will be interest out there but I think a bit more detail would be required.

I got a price for a 40 foot container from a company in Kilmarnock kitted out like that but with no seats and it was £10K.

For that price I was supplying the container and it would have steps as in the photo but for standing only

The cost of hiring the lorry to move the container from my bakery in Kiilie to the companies workshop and then to Darvel was a good chunk of the total fee.
