Sheep77
A thought Ross Campbell was outstanding today never missed a header and got his goal which he deserved but in all a very good team performance
Legless
Keasty was outstanding also, linked well with MacKenzie, also laid two sitters on a plate for Mooney, unfortunately Mooney never capitalised!
Deanburn Dave
Lots of positives in the game today. Maybe sounds a bit greedy but we should have scored more goals.McKenzie and Keast put in a great shift with some great runs. Mooney when he came on missed a couple of chances but the player IMO shows lots of potential. Tom Grant needs to shoot on sight rather than try and run around defences but that applies to other BU players as well.Nimmo and Gemmell had a verbal spat towards the end of the game when it was 6-1. Nimmo wanted the team to play with more urgency and directness whereas Gemmell wanted more accuracy with the passing and ensuring possession. Get the balance of those two approaches right and you play good Fitbaw. Very enjoyable viewing today for the BU supporters.

There’s the experienced midfield general knowing there’s no point running about after long hopeful balls, they’re two men down, keep it, let them chase the game, job done. Then there’s wee-mental-davie who wants to go and pump them 12-1!

Deanburn Dave
The chat yesterday was that Chris "Dougie" Donnelly has a new job with shifts so his appearances this season will be sporadic at best.
Jambo'ness
Two surprises yesterday. One, that McKenzie had shaken off his hefty knock from midweek and two, just how Crossgates seem to have regressed. Yes, we played very well, with not a weak link in the side but the 'gates just weren't the same side from last season. Was it a one-off? McKenzie was my MOTM but Ross Campbell wasn't far behind. Dev also put in a heck of a shift but every so often would ruin it with a howling pass. Their defenders were moaning about the decisions going against them but all the penalties were stone-wallers, especially theirs. Their first red card was a wee bit unlucky but committing a foul on the edge of the box while on a yellow card is always risky. Their second was a shocking two foot lunge on Dev. The number two was also lucky to stay on after his antics with Nimmo.

Can confirm that according to his father. Can you confirm it was an og. As the match report gives it to McKenzie?
Deanburn Dave
1-0 the BU's. Nice play sees McKenzie break through the defence. Blasts his shot off the keepers chest which comes straight out hits a defender and goes in the net. OG but they count.Clear o.g. unless my post above is hopelessly wrong.

Deanburn Dave
Just watched the goal on the BU website and its Legless who's reputation is in tatters. Ball clearly goes in off a Crossgates defender.

Is it an “away game” or is it still our home game? Are we hiring the venue therefore reaping the benefits as the home team ie gate receipts and of course the raffle.

Surely if you are hiring a venue - then you hire local to minimise the cost on your supporters? Or has the other amateur outfit already hired Douglas Park. -
