Deanburn Dave
MOTM ..... Stevenson.
Deanburn Dave
Back in the house with a cup of tea...… Second half was much like the first in that it was largely scrappy and disjointed with the odd bit of good play with the BU's getting an equaliser from a good Stevenson finish. Over the 90 probably more opportunities falling to the Broxburn players so perhaps overall IMO a point gained by the BU's rather than two lost. Broxburn playing like that will get plenty of points at home this season.

Scrappy game where the game was played between both 18 yard boxes but I’ll disagree DD a thought we deserved a point with our 2nd half display

Deanburn Dave
Lots of room for improvement in the BU's all over the park. I would guess there would have been some strong words of encouragement from Max and the senior players in the dressing room at fulltime.
Jambo'ness
Nice touch right at the start from Broxburn, holding a minute's silence for Tam Chambers, which was impeccably observed. Our old lacking of a goal-scoring centre forward is already looking as if it will be a problem. Young McKenzie, when he came on, seemed to be played wide, much like his namesake last season. Our distribution from the back was poor and we handed possession back too often. Even before his goal, Ryan was my MOTM. He seems to thrive on the artificial surface and looks to have stepped up a notch from last season. Felt we deserved a point and looked like getting all three after we equalised but the 'brox dug in and came back. Not many will win at Albyn Park this season.

Jambo'ness
I'll second that. The lino was a wee numpty the whole game.

Reasonably fair assessment-both teams look like they need a finisher to be at the top of the league but early days. Vast improvement by Broxburn today. As an aside Broxburn won all their conference games at home last year so it will a difficult place to go.

Him and Morgan will create chances.

Bo'nus Ball
That will why when the ball went in we all looked to the linesman because we knew he was off.. Thought the officials had a decent game and the enclosure side linesman entered into a bit of good banter with the fans.

Deanburn Dave
This season I am going to TRY to be a bit more lenient towards the officials.

Banter’s good but whilst the officials on the whole were fine, that lad got a lot wrong or had the decisions made for him.
Deanburn Dave
It looks like they have made good progress with the pitch at Newtown Park. Next stage I believe is a metal fence around the pitch and the advertisement boards going up. All going well no "home" games at Camelon.

The Newtown Park Association (NPA) said that this would be a 2 phase operation with the first phase being the artificial pitch going down. That was to allow the pitch to be used by all the local teams and the wider community as soon as possible. I would expect the NPA to make an announcement in the next few weeks announcing that phase 1 has been completed and the pitch is open for business. My fingers are crossed that there's news about the progress with the hub at the same time.
