English Premier League 2019-20

Control has nothing to do with it.
Any challenge that ends up with studs contacting can be interpreted as dangerous by the referee who is then within his/her rights to show a red.
Control has a lot to do with it. If you jump in and completely miss the player - you'll still be red carded for being out of control.

No?

That tackle yesterday looked very controlled and was still fucking nasty.

If contact is made then control has nothing to do with it is how I should have put it.

Does that make sense?

Yes, you are right about the control aspect if you lunge wildly and miss.

Think you've accidentally highlighted one of the problems - the referee was well within his rights to show a red. But he didn't. The VAR, who may have a different interpretation of what constitutes dangerous play, serious foul play (which is what it was given for, I think?), control etc. decided it should be a red. Most people wouldn't have been even mentioning this had the on-field ref went to look at the screen and decided for himself that it merited a red card. Of course slo-mo always makes things look a lot worse and the way his ankle turned over made it look like an awful tackle rather than simply a mistimed one that was a touch high.

Bournemouth the latest team I've seen lately to keep trying to play out from the back with a team of players who don't possess the footballing ability to do so. Not much between them and Watford but they gifted Watford the only goal so far.

The current bottom three are probably a safe bet to stay there, but I've still got a feeling that Brighton could slip down there.

Southampton and Watford's (although they're still very much in it) turnarounds has been incredible, though, so I suppose someone could still do that.

Sarr took the piss out of Bournemouth. Good finish.

No wee side foot finish from Deeney there, just leather the bloody thing. Game over imo, can't see Bournemouth scoring 2.

Can't see them getting one. Watford happy to hit them on the counter. Without sounding like Gordon Strachan, Fraser looks tiny in comparison to some of those Watford lads.

That's the least Watford deserve. Every single player in the Bournemouth squad seem like they'd rather be anywhere else but on that park. So lethargic.
Yeah, it's one paced, static. No energy from them at all. Going through the motions which isnt really what you expect from them

Bournemouth look like they have a one-way ticket to the Championship. Pearson has done a tremendous job turning Watford around.

Only a matter of time till they sack Howe

Which will be a crime but will likely happen anyway
