English Premier League 2019-20

You'd expect most of the more succesful clubs who are on telly all the time to be disliked. Maybe Liverpool might particularly grate with a lot of Scottish fans as they can seem a bit Celticy. Oh, and Rab probably didn't help.

Is Rab responsible for this part of the forum being quite anti Liverpool or are Liverpool quite a disliked club among Scottish football supporters and I just hadn’t noticed?

I think it's a bit of both, a lot of people hate Liverpool as they're one of those teams you see people supporting instead of their local team/team from the country they live in.

On the flip side Rab's posts when Liverpool were doing well were absolutely diabolical.

Liverpool have this kind of arrogance of being 'the best fans ever' and that the club is this amazing special thing, rather than just seeing themselves as a football club and fans like any other club. They are a bit 'Celtic-y' in that regard. This isn't helped at all by having a media that fawns over them, last years whole 'moral EPL winner' thing was absolute bollocks.  I find that is what annoys me the most about them.

That said there is a lot I like about them, so I am not rabidly anti-Liverpool but that is when Rab would get annoying as his super-fan persona wouldn't handle anything vaguely critical said against them without a 'lolverpool' post or some inane smiley. That and his crusade against people watching Sky sports. utterly bizarre to even care about what other people do that much.

Yeah I get that they are Celticy and then there’s the Heysel factor I just think the dislike for them is disproportionate and much more people on here wanted city to win the league in 18/19 and 13/14 despite City being a club who I would imagine most posters would dislike just as much as Liverpool. That’s just my perception though.

I didn't like Liverpool long before I encountered Rab.

I still don't really care about Man City. Maybe when they start attracting more fans, I will. Liverpool are twats. But worse than that, twats that the media seems to think should be treated with unlimited reverence and hero worship.

I don’t doubt that he was going to all the games that’s what made him particularly pathetic. Devoting that much of your life to following a foreign team is bad enough but looking down on people who had lives that didn’t revolve around the English Premier League is potentially the biggest minter act this site has ever seen.

Having been to Liverpool a few times and sat among Liverpool fans as an away fan, I've got to say I found them head and shoulders above any other support I've been among. The things that are said about the city are true, IMO - good and bad. Their online fans are often gobshites but then, whose aren't?

I think it's unfair to compare Liverpool fans to Celtic fans - they don't support actual, genuine, civilian-slaughtering terrorists.
