Just lost the game and you're all smiles and wanting selfies with an opponents player, a guy who snaked his way out your club for extra money.
The EPL summed up.

It wasn’t an EPL game, it was the Community Shield so not really the EPL summed up no.

I do find this an interesting debate on here, until one or two hijack it with there own personal agenda.
I've said it before, I don't mind the football tourist. It brings in a lot of money for the big clubs. The people who go every week will not spend money in the club shop to the same extent as the tourists do, fact.
Work it out, 10,000 "fans" spending around £40 to £50 every home match that locals will not spend is not to be sneezed at. That, obviously has a major down side as well, as there could be 10,000 young locals turning up every week who, over a life time could potentially spend more and maybe more importantly, want to play football instead of FIFA.
At the end of the end though, it's all about money these days, whether we like it or not. Not a lot we can do about it.
There's a lot we can do about it, though.

We could support our local teams to the full, and stop giving money to this shambles of an organisation.

Agreed Panda. See it in here all the time folk glued to their tellies sniping about Greatest Leagues in world and making up nicknames for EPL teams while there’s local games on all over.

I don't think it's mandatory to hate your former players. They spent the money well and have a better team now.

Joel Matip has been named as the PFA Premier League Player of the Month for September.

The Liverpool defender pipped Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal), Callum Wilson (Bournemouth), Ricardo Pereira (Leicester City) and Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez to the prize following an online vote.

Matip played in all three of the Reds’ top-flight fixtures during September to help maintain the 100 per cent start to the season as Newcastle United, Chelsea and Sheffield United were defeated by Jürgen Klopp’s side.

Jürgen Klopp has been named Premier League Manager of the Month for September.

The Liverpool boss ensured his side maintained their flawless start to the top-flight campaign by presiding over victories against Newcastle United, Chelsea and Sheffield United.

It's the second month running Klopp has been awarded the prize after also claiming it for August.

In clinching September's edition, the German saw off competition from Eddie Howe (Bournemouth), Frank Lampard (Chelsea) and Brendan Rodgers (Leicester City).

Klopp has now won the Premier League Manager of the Month award on five occasions, having also taken it in September 2016, December 2018 and March 2019, in addition to this season's two accolades.

English FA: Get arrested for drink-driving, no problem, good luck on international duty with Wales

Also English FA: A 16 year old acts like a 16 year old - NO FOOTBALL FOR YOU, COME BACK IN 14 DAYS

Not saying that this lad didn't do anything wrong but the punishment seems excessive given the punishment handed out to other players for much much worse off pitch indiscretions

Never mind the FA, Derby should have suspended the three (or maybe four) players for breaking the club's rules (I know Keough is out with a long term injury anyway). A fine is nothing to these players.
Keogh may even sue his team mates!

Rab the racist banned? It’s safe to read this thread again?

It tends to be a cyclical thing; having been here a while and witnessing the Supras vs. H_B shitfest's over multiple threads and Rab's outright worrisome contributions on misc football, it'll not be long before someone steps up and starts their own little schtick in this section of the site.

Rab afaik started off benign enough but he ended up taking the Liverpool superfan thing to a bit of an extreme. There's having a passion for football and then there's having an utterly unhealthy obsession with it - pretty clear that he's in the latter camp there.

He was about on a par with the computer generated fans on the social media section of the Football Manager games tbh, so no big miss.
