Hibs vs Aberdeen

Started well, first five minutes, then fell out of it totally. As ever, getting a goal right before half time changed things round. I thought we were ok second half, which was enough to beat Hibs. Having said that the shooting from the Hibs players in the second half was dreadful. Although I was obviously at the other end, it looked to me as if the power in three or four of their shots in the second half was pass back strength at best. Lovely move for our second goal, and the fifteen minutes or so of Mackay-Steven showed what we have been missing since December, apart from a couple of games between his injuries. Easter Road becoming one of my favourite grounds to visit, as we rarely fail to win there these days. The strange thing is that, although the vast majority of Hibs posters on here are total numpties, the ones I meet in the pubs and outside the ground before and after matches are great folk.

I’ve just seen the decision for our penalty, f**k me that’s soft

There should be no debate about the standard of refs in our top league now - they are dreadful, and it seems that there is no process for removing or demotion for the worst of them.

Thing is, it is basic and obvious things they are getting so wrong.

That's penalties that have been given against us in two weeks, last week was a foul on Gray, and yesterday's was not a foul imo.

I'm not that bothered, as those results did not determine our finishing position, but the one Killie scored allowed them to take 3rd place from Aberdeen, which might be important.

I wasn't sure on the GMS one.  It did seem a slight foul from where I was but it looks strange as he initially tries to stay up then obviously sort of loses his balance, loses the ball and just decides f**k it I better go down. I was surprised it was given though.

Absolutely dreadful pen anyway.

The O'Donnell one yesterday is the type that annoys me. Players shirt is pulled and he falls forward.

The Gray one the other week was bizarre. Haven't seen a replay of our one from yesterday but led to believe it was never a pen.

Yep.

Like I said, this isn't about yesterday's match, but these decisions do matter.

We get players retrospective banned for dives, fouls etc so a process exists there.

When someone like Andrew Dallas gives so many awful pens in one season, surely a spell in a lower league is called for?

There's no appetite for change from the two the league is run to please.

Celtic fans will tell you Andrew Dallas is a Rangers fan who is only where he is because of his dad. They'll point to decisions like the handball against St Mirren outside the box that was given as a pen. They forget that a month earlier he gave Celtic a penalty against us for the exact same thing in a national cup final. On that day he was just a bad referee.

It would take something like the other 10 teams taking a drastic measure to force any change. We all know there isn't a spine for it.

Having just watched the highlights have to agree with that.

Thought the Hibs' goal was well worked.

Being blunt, it was the only incisive move we made all day.

Actually, blunt is a good word for our middle to front at the moment.

Thank f**k for the close season........

Aye, the more you watch the more you wonder how he got so much room!

The back four were trying to play him offside. At the match I thought he was off, but Shinnie was giving Logan an absolute roasting for playing him on, and Logan was giving him a fair bit back. But when you stop the play when the ball is dinked forward, it’s Lowe that’s playing him on. Good spot by the linesman. I thought at the time and still think now that it is a penalty. It’s definitely a foul on Mackay-Steven whether he goes down or not.

Who was it that taught Brazil 70 to play agan? If you know your history...

The English club Corinthians?

Or maybe Thomas Donohoe from Busby. A well known Hibs stronghold in East Renfrewshire.
