I noticed on Dalkeith site that they will be announcing a few signings in due course as Jock Landells has been busy securing signatures and also his backroom staff. Jock must have wondered what he had done for 9/10 players to disappear with his feet just in the door. Fingers crossed he can get a competitive squad together.

Hope Jock gets it sorted , did not deserve a team walk out even if he didnt want  some of them

thought he had retired years ago ,,,,,,far to old and more importantly too slow surely

Played at Bonnyrigg for a bit before going amateur with Sandys.

And memorably scored the winning goal against Cove Rangers in the Scottish Cup.

Does anyone actually think moving  a Dalkeith Team that struggled in their conference finishing 8th !! to a League above and hoping it will work is not just a Very unfunny Joke on the Welfare !

From an outside point of view

If the Welfare Committee have given the Manager the permission and the money to sign what appears to be the entire Dalkeith team it can only be presumed they are happy with the direction the Club is taking

I would be somewhat shocked if as reported Dalkeith struggled in their conference  then the only direction Welfare would appear to be heading  next season is downward from what ever League the powers that be deem them to be in

BUT you never know

Any News

When will the debacle of  what leagues the  Welfare/Bonnyrigg  be in be  officially ratified ?

The silence from the Lowland League is deafening. They should have confirmed potential outcomes by now regarding Whitehill Welfare, Bonnyrigg Rose and the Berwick Rangers relegation into the league. They haven’t even confirmed if there is a place still being filled by application or not as by my interpretation if Berwick came down, bottom would be relegated and then allowed to apply for the vacancy along with any other licensed teams. Surely it isn’t too much to ask for a statement confirming the state of play.

Do you happen to know that they haven't? There was no public declaration of the attempted relegation rule change earlier this year. Or of 14th being "guaranteed" they would not be relegated. Even the extension to the March 31st deadline came through through the East of Scotland rather than the Lowland League.

Honestly? Just have the team as ??? in the fixture list, and keep it a surprise until they run out at the first game of the season. Obviously they'll have to be away, or it would ruin the shock factor, but I'm sure the league can work that out.
