Someone has already gone off and done it - I would quite like to see it properly released with some big hitters on it. Its not bad and obviously far better than "Don't come home too soon"

This monstrous chiptune of Ally's Army is probably as good as any of them. At least the English have World in Motion.

(starts at about 10 seconds in)

Ally's Tartan Army was quality.

Remember buying this with my Dad in Woolworths at the bottom of Leith Walk along with a Bill Barclay tune for Argentina 1978 and Bill signed both records.

Struggling to remember the Barclay song though,....

Aye CC, that's the one. Knew the tune/song, but couldn't for the life of me remember what it was called. Bill Barclay is a legend as well. One of those all round good guys who is popular with everyone.

I  bought "Ally' s Tartan Army" in Woolworths too.

Not the coolest combination for the first record I ever bought.

Crushed that 'Easy, Easy', the 1974 World Cup song isn't even a contender. A Bay City Rollers vibe and the sort of songwriting confidence that was able to throw down lyrics like, ring-a-ding-a-ding, there goes Willie on the wing'.

We won't see that quality again.

Easy Easy was from the first World Cup I have clear memories of. With it's glam rock vibe and "yabba dabba doo" lyrics it's the absolute best. That and the team wasn't shite either make it a golden era for me.
