2019/20 Scottish Cup

The whole reason given by the SFA for the cup not being abandoned (or played to a finish) was to have a big pay day with fans at the game. This clearly is not going to happen.

It therefore seems only fair to award the cup (and associated prize money of course) to Hearts as the team with the best cup record in the tournament when it was stopped. That's how things work these days isn't it? We "deserve" the cup on that basis?

Oh hang on Celtic are still in it going for a 92nd treble in a row or whatever. As you were. We all know had Celtic not still been in the SC it would have been cancelled.

Of course if the SFA did the fair thing and awarded the cup to Hearts, we now wouldn't get the European spot we would "deserve" as cup winners because Aberdeen got that for.... reasons. That's all fair though.

I can only assume that Celtic are also still in the 19/20 Challenge Cup, and that's why it hasn't been cancelled.

Want to point me to the 19/20 Challenge Cup fixtures? I don't see them but I do see 19/20 Scottish Cup fixtures.

Part-time football is not going to happen folks if the virus continues. How can PT players stay in a bubble? How can clubs afford testing with no crowds? Even some FT clubs seem unlikely to be able to afford testing without crowd income.

Reconstruction should have been the solution to ensure all the FT teams who can play play. It was always the obvious, easy and least destructive solution.

Hahahaha

You think awarding the cup to the team that has performed best up to the point of football stopping is not a viable or fair solution. But awarding the league title to the team that has performed best up to the point of football stopping is? Haha indeed.

And of course you'll have a completely objective measure for how Hearts were the best performing team in the cup?

And since you were asking, the 19/20 Challenge Cup has a final of Raith v Inverness - likely to be scheduled for November but still to be confirmed.

Yes, Hearts were the best team. Won all our games with no replays needed by the biggest margins overall. Clearly the best team in the cup. It's ours, thanks under the new way of doing things in Scottish football.

"Gees the cup cos we got to the semi final and we're seething". Ace.

Kind of like gies us a European place because we got to 4th after 30 games, when two other teams in the cup could still get that place?

At least you got the chance to vote yourself 4th. We never got a chance to vote ourselves cup winners.

Premier Sports must be spewing theyve paid to show our game, be lucky if they get 1 person who pays for the game when it’s on BBC for free [emoji23]

That's the deal they signed up to. If they wanted exclusive coverage of the derby they should have picked it instead of Celtic v Aberdeen.

Crazy considering no one in their right mind will pay for it

It's the same deal Sky had previously - exclusive coverage of one semi plus non-exclusive coverage of the other, as well as the final.

Would say thats different given a lot of people have Sky anyway, Premier Sports is largely PPV
