Raith Rovers v Forfar/Forfar v Raith Rovers

Recommended Posts

Ist half we sat too deep, proper team selection but tactics were bollocks.

We brought Eddie on but might as well chucked him up front as we had nothing to lose.

Gutted to go out to this lot but we will see them all next season (apart from retired Davo)

Good to finally get through to a play-off final. Forfar were always going to be tough opponents, but the favourites prevailed. Davo strolled it. No idea why Forfar stood off us for long spells. Especially after pressing like hound dogs at Starks on Tuesday. Bizarre tactics.

So close to not mentioning Davo there.

I’m unsure what Forfar fans can really be moaning about regarding the referee. After the red card you had a 10 minute spell where Baird was trying to get himself sent off and you got 3/4 players booked. Just totally lost the heed.

We were all laughing at how bad 12 for Forfar was when another P&B poster told me it was Easton. He was fucking poison. Better team won in the end, deserved the victory over both legs.

Baird was behaving as if the red mist had descended, I thought he was a baw hair away from an early shower.

This is bad patter, but it’s certainly a lot better than when you used to post octopus porn on the NSFW thread. Whatever floats your boat though.

Quite relevant patter actually, "Fortuitous penalty saves the day for the Rovers... again" not the first time it's been heard this season!!!

And from all the shit that used to go up on the NSFW Thread, you remember the most obscure one of all, whatever floats your boat indeed!!!

Congratulations on your Playoff victory anyway!!!

You won the game but you'll never beat our bridies.

It was a toss up today whether to go to Cove v Berwick or add on another 60/70 miles drive to go to Station Park for a bridie, must admit while watching Cove stroll through the game I could still nearly taste the missed bridie opportunity,  nevermind will get next season when the Toon go back to visit the Loons :1eye

Weird game really. The first half was as comfortable a half as i can remember. Forfar let us control possession, which when you look at the importance of the match, as well as our defensive record and record at Station Park, was very strange. Almost felt too straightforward at half time.

Second half started differently and Forfar had us on the back foot. Awful goal to concede which is a shame as otherwise it was a fine defensive display.

At 1-0 i feared the worst especially given how we were set up to keep things tight. Great reaction straight away to grab the pen and goal. After then we saw the game out really well, with Baird making an absolute tit of himself. Some hefty challenges going in but the last 30 mins was more like the Mcglynn sides of old. Seeing games out whilst winding up the opposition. Forfar's indiscipline killed any momentum and broke up the game nicely for us.

Davidson was immense today but Matthews was my man of the match. Absolutely superb display in midfield.

Hard to gauge the crowd given the lack of segregation but id be surprised if there were under 1200 Rovers fans there, which given our season is fantastic. Great atmosphere from both sets of fans.

Forfar have had a great season but they really didn't turn up today and frankly i think that's a massive opportunity lost for them.

Nice to win a play off tie for once. Queens will rightly be heavy favourites but at least we are there this time. If the Davo hating Forfar fan could tip Dobbie to have a blinder that would be braw.
