Tony Blair on How to Stop Independence

Considering it seriously, I think it would work against. At most, you'd have maybe 30k Celtic fans who might vote in favour of the UK instead of independence, and a minute number of Rangers fans who would perhaps change their vote on it if that was the carrot. On the other side you would have just about every other football fan in Scotland being completely alienated at the prospect and anyone who was either undecided or a soft yes but maybe not voting would be turned into a yes vote.

Blair making the grave error here of thinking that anyone gives a single solitary shite what a disgraced war criminal thinks about Scottish football.

The day that someone stats a thread on P&B about some shite i’ve come out with, will be a memorable day in my meaningless existence.

Tony talks and people listen.

I can see it being near impossible to get a hotel room in Inverness whenever Inverness Caledonian Thistle are playing at home to Man United, Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal.
As for booking a table in a restaurant - I shudder to think.  ;)

An all in British League Cup replacing our CIS or whatever it's called these days would be phenomenal.

Get an American oil subsidiary of Chevron Corporation to sponsor it and we could be on to something.

A cup that none of us would have a hope in hell of ever winning. Terrific stuff.

Going by that thinking there's no point in junior clubs entering the Scottish Cup...or Hibs between the years of 1902 and 2016!  It's unlikely to happen and the logistics of it would be difficult but if it could be done and done properly, it'd be great.

The junior clubs with their 20 or so fans don't care about winning major silverware. The ties are just seen as a pay day to them. For clubs in the highest tier of Scottish professional football, they all want to win silverware.

Does the prospect of getting pumped by some English Premiership or Championship reserve team if your club is lucky enough to survive in the competition long enough to play them really excite you that much?

The away day would be a good laugh.
