I would stick my house on it being McPake.

Perty at yours if it comes in.

Couch at mines if it doesn't.

Probably not the worst idea. Is there not about three or four recently retired managers who got promoted as their first job?

Sure I seen a list somewhere including the likes of Neilson and McInnes.

I’d prefer Houston to partner McPake than JN tbh

Why? Houston was dreadful as an assistant at Morton.

How are you quantifying that?

All of their managers issues seemed to be ones brought on by inexperience, which is the problem Houston was there to prevent.

Missed opportunity, should have included Martin Canning on the shortlist.

Am I going to suffer you following me around the forum because I dared to suggest Falkirk aren't the "Leeds of Scotland"?

calm yerself. I dont think I was really involved in that one was I?

By how they assist the manager, which was my point.

The clues in the name m8.

Still havent showed me anything measurable though, which was kind of my point. Unless we are going to place equal blame for every failed manager on the assistant manager?

What are you expecting here? Theres not always paper facts for things.

The majority of Morton fans complained about him making common rookie mistakes of sticking by their system, never deviating from it, and poor use of subs. As his assistant, Houston should've been helping him fix those errors.

He clearly wasnt able to positively influence a rookie manager at Morton, so it's unlikely he'd be able to at Dundee.

The point I'm making is really, really, simple to understand.
