Keep/Punt/Undecided

Recommended Posts

I'd like to think we'd be trying to upgrade on McKay, Trafford, White  and Rooney, even on a reduced budget. No idea what kind of contracts they're on.

As others have said, we can judge McCauley after the summer but so far it looks like he's a complete dud.

I'd like to keep the rest - Ridgers, McCart, Donaldson, Chalmers, Welsh and Walsh have all been decent signings.

I’ve heard OFW is on £1,700 a week with a £700 appearance fee on top.

You can put any old shit online and folk will believe it, as seen by replies.

Where did you hear this?

Spot on.

AlsoI’m not sure how many millions it would take to lure a rational person to Dingwall.

There are many that are now moribund in Milnafua that moved for modest amounts.

I can't think why anyone would want to join them.

Pars

Goalies

Scully - Keep, pretty dependable goalkeeper

Murdoch/Robinson/Gill- Would give Murdoch maybe a 6 month contract if he can be fit. Gill will likely stay. and I guess Robinson will leave. No strong urge to keep/let go for any of these. Def keep Murdoch if can get fit

Defenders/Full Backs

J Longridge - Keep - Pretty consistant good performer.

Ashcroft - Keep - Poor season, but has had two good ones before. With the right partner alongside perhaps he will come good.

Devine - Release (though contracted) Not very good is he. Too easily outmuscled and with Ashcroft struggling wasn't capable of leading the defence.

Durnan - Release - To be fair ive barely seen him play and some people state he did have a good spell. But never rated him and from what I have seen poorer than last seasons defenders

Martin - Keep - Not played all season due to injury, and was excellent final third of last season. No blame on him for this season at all. Think deserves another year. Also very versatile which is useful to have.

Williamson - Keep (Just) - This is controversial, and many will disagree. He's been poor. Very much a confidence player and when he  has none, he needs protected. On form, he was starting to show he could be very useful going forward, even getting some assists and first career goal at end of last season. Im a fan, though patience tested this season. Hope for one last year which he makes most of.

Midfield

Beadling - Keep - Very effective player, feel more to come from him. He has been poor at times

Thomson - Keep, has great drive and energy, only player with any of that this season. Can improve I think to

Craigen - Keep - Versatile and dependable

Blair -Keep - Only decent set piece taker

However, with Todd getting game time, I cant help but feel that keeping all 4 of the above will be a bad move. Afterall it means adding no new personnel to centre mid. Not many goals from centre mid in there. If I had to pick one to go, probably Blair. Bring in a player who  is likely to add goals from midfield.if possible

Vincent - Release - Been poor player for us, never really seen what he offers or seen him have a good game

Connolly - Release - Poor Cardle/Aird replacement.  Don't rate and doubt he will be retained anyway

Higginbotham - Release - Had 1 good game in 10 or so in previous seasons, and none this year.  Kinda fed up with him

L Longridge - Release - Started not too badly, but find him pretty frustrating.  Don't no best position.

Striker

Fais - Release - I realise of course he and some others are on loan. Not got the goals and seems his level is League 1

Hippolyte - Release (contracted) - Terrible

Anderson - Keep - Young and some games pass him by, but a good striker with great potential, cant see him coming back though.

Ryan  - Keep (Just) Controversial this one, not had a chance with Crawford yet.  Goalscoring record ain't great this year pre injury and that miss will always be with him. But cant see us getting rid of all strikers, and if one has to be kept on, id say its him. Did ok last year

Muirhead - release - Perhaps worst player of the season. Nothing positive can be said.

Smith -Release - with regret - just never built on his form on start of last season

Seriously?  League 1 is his level. The games pass him by without a hint of being effective in any way.

That is crazy money for a guy who was fairly susceptible to a blunder or two

Would love to know the money that Boden, Mulraney etc were on

Not sure about Mulraney other than his wages would've doubled had he stayed but Boden was apparently on £2,000 a week.

I believe Mulraney was on £700 a week which was due to become £1400 last summer, hence why we were so desperate to get rid.
