b ross
It's not about Starks Park. It's about Colin Hamilton, who effectively won the league back in February. Watch from around the 20 second mark in the video to relive the moment. Some finish [emoji1145][emoji1145][emoji1145]

lichtgilphead
One last time, just for the memories... East Fife might finish fifth. The mighty (full time) Raith Rovers may finish fourth. How's that "mare of all mares" going? You might still finish behind 3 Angus teams (mathematically unlikely, but here we are!) Funny how rattled the Arbroath fans get about us being excited about McGlynn coming back. We had Hendry and Vaughan fit at that time too, if they’d stayed fit we’d probably have won the league tbh... CALDERON
Such awful defending again. McGlynn messed up by not bringing any new defenders in. Seeing the available transfer resources go on those loan guys instead is so infuriating. I refuse to believe that our youth players couldn't do the same job as the likes of Barjonas et al. That bar is set pretty low anyway.
Scary Bear
Every time the Rovers fail to win a game, Frank has a minor breakdown. If we don’t win the play-offs there’ll be trouble.

That bar is set pretty low anyway. This is hindsight talking though. If McGlynn didn’t need to sign replacements for Wright, Gillespie, Armstrong, Hendry, Vaughan and even Dingwall, we’d quite possibly have signed a defender. As it was, he’s signed a lot of players as replacements for injuries, they haven’t just been a pain in the arse for certain games (seven probable starters out yesterday, plus a few youths) but have dictated what McGlynn can do in the transfer market. If he hadn’t signed the likes of Barjonas and James Berry for instance was performing poorly, he’d be getting absolute pelters for not dipping into the loan market. Barjonas will be costing us virtually nothing but it’s obvious he would if he doesn’t play - hence he always plays. Tough gig being a football manager. McGlynn made the only calls he could make at the time, for me, and they’ve not worked out due to a range of circumstances - some his fault, some not.
Beastie Russell
Fingers crossed that Dick was having a wee word about signing Davo as they went up the tunnel arm in arm

However, the loan window ended in Feb – and there had been more than enough to suggest that our defence was the area of absolute massive concern. I know its about defending as a team and other factors have come into play, but some of the goals we lost earlier in the season were dreadful – away to Forfar in Oct, away to EF in Nov, away to Montrose in Dec – and you could add in the goals away to Brechin in Jan and the one at home to Forfar in Feb – all of those games saw us drop points from winning positions as a result of poor defending – we have seen new players come in after all of those, and none of them defenders. I know what Mcglynn has tried to do but the harsh fact is that he hasn’t recruited any defenders (after Crane) into a team that has shown they cant defend. Last Feb we were well clear at the top of the league pretty much based on Lewis Vaughan and a watertight defence – the defence started to creak and its been downhill since then.
