Lack of posts on this thread for a massive game tells its own story. Nerves are jangling. Think we will scrape this 2-1 but hopefully, no matter what, he fields a team that will have a right go and that means places for Cardle and Fitzy and no Harkins anywhere near the team or bench. Going to the POTY in Hilton after it. Its either going to be one of the worst ever or a blooter case (even at Hilton prices)

Boooom £10 on correct score. McGinty man of the match for me and Skippy will be getting a pint bought for him tonight or indeed whatever he wants!!! Also fair play to Gazza Harkins...he was great when he came on. Massive result!!

Another fighting performance from us. First half excellent with a cracking goal and threat on the break thereafter. Thistle obviously decided to go for it at ht and we really needed to just keep it at 1-0 for a bit and with Partick so attacking chances would have come for us. Instead we conceded so early and the whole place got a lift.  This team never gives up though and rather than folding at 2-1 we finished the stronger and might have snatched a point.

Fair play to Partick. Gambled at ht and it paid off. Incredible with the creative talent in that team that they are down at the bottom. But it's not over yet :)

Caldwell got his team selection wrong, but to be fair he changed it at HT and it worked. Harkins has been utter dogshit since he joined, but was excellent today. Cardle needs to be starting every week. McGinty had a very good game as well. Hoping that’s no more 5 at the back now.

Fair play to Neil Parry btw, had my head well and truly gone for a while.

pretending he thought it was a free kick for offside, getting told by the ref to move the ball to the 6 yard box, still taking the kick and then letting it go by him when it was sent back to retake to eat up a few more seconds was something else. Ripped the c**t right out the ref there.

Him playing the ball out for a throw was excellent.

Routine home win :angel

Fair play to Alloa, better team first half but the lads stuck in and the changes at half time paid off.

Big shout out to Brenda from Alloa for her tear stained rant up the road about Skippy McDonald keeping us up.

I quite enjoy a keeper at the windup, and he definitely was today. But if you play that game, you get a well deserved GIRUY when it backfires, like today.

As mentioned by a few already, rookie mistake from Goodwin to order the retreat as soon as Alloa took the lead. We were there for the taking with our daft lineup, but he was content for his side to sit with 11 men behind the ball for some reason, and it probably cost Alloa a positive result today.

That’s the second home game in a row where we’ve started with completely the wrong lineup/formation and had to chase a game, but the second game where HT changes have seen us fight back to take points. Will Caldwell have learned for Ayr at home next Saturday and start with some actual wide players? We’ll see.

Never mind 'to be fair' would be nice to have 90 mins to win a game instead of 45. Got it wrong YET again today. Not a good manager. End of.
