West Region Reconstruction?? Again

The much easier solution to reform the cups. I can't grasp how the west region blazers can't see the bleedin obvious
Can't reform any of the cups. It was only voted in at the AGM. So, according to Glensmad, it can't be changed till next year.
Looks like the 'west region blazers' have already seen the bleedin obvious.

Its pretty easy, scrap the sectional cup and do away with replays. Sorted.
We don't have replays in the West Region.
So, if you're meaning the Scottish Junior Cup, then why would the rest of the junior teams in Scotland vote to do away with replays to help out the West Premiership? They've resisted numerous attempts to eliminate replays in the past, I can't see that changing now.

I mean scrap Scottish replays and the sectional cup at least in its current format.
Its not just the west premier joining the pyramid is it?

It's clear the problem lies with the clubs that qualify for the big Scottish are the ones that play most games is in recent years talbot and beith no fault on them that they are the most successful .talbot for example got to the final of the sectional and played 7 games to get there if that cup was mothballed then they would have played 25 league games and would be finished before the end of April so we would know who the champions were for the play offs .you could also make it that the teams who qualify for the big Scottish are either scratched from the West cup of at very least enter at the 3rd round its not as if they will lose out financially they are getting good money from the big Scottish that most other clubs would never see .looking at this season its not been a bad winter and quite a few premier club's season would be finished by now but because of the more successful club's teams are now waiting up to 8 weeks to play a handful of fixtures. So in my opinion scrap the sectional cup and let the teams who are in the BIG Scottish come in on the third round.

If you can't scrap the sectional then why not play the knockout matches when possible throughout the season? The EOS have done that with their league cup - group games at the start of the season, only just coming to the end of the last 16 matches with Bonnyrigg playing tomorrow. You would gain back one or two midweeks in August and another Saturday for the finalists.

But the biggest problem here in the West is the successful teams still play too many games over the season and that affects the rest of the other teams in the league I don't think moving cup  games to different times in the season is going to solve the problem the simple answer is less games and not that proposal from the management committee that would put club's out the game.

Dont even need to outright scrap the sectional either, just make it an outright elimination cup and cut down on number of meaningless matches.
Making it an outright elimination saves one match day. The majority of clubs wanted to keep the sectional as the "meaningless matches" are all (relatively) local derbies and it's doubtful it would get passed. Personally I would rather see the league start immediately, and have a straight knockout cup at the end of the season.

A sectional league cup at the end of the season would already solve a lot of issues. With the Junior Cup, scrapping replays wouldn't be a bad idea imo. Failing that, maybe stop scheduling dates between December - February. One problem is that when games get postponed in that period and rescheduled week after week it knocks the league back quite a bit. Only having rounds scheduled until November and from March would at least lessen the impact of the Junior Cup on league fixtures.

As would assigned 'cup'/catch up weekends. Gives clubs far better chance of remaining on schedule as they are kept active on league games until the next available assigned date.

There was 11 replays in the Macron Scottish Junior Cup during that same period.
