The battle for 2nd on Friday night football (Dundee United v Ayr)

Recommended Posts

Oh well, 3rd/4th it is. Wrap Shankland in cotton wool until the play-offs and try get him fit.

Truly remarkable that after all that money, two squad overhauls, new owners and a new manager that Dundee United look set to finish miles behind first and a staggering one place ahead of the mighty Ayr. An exceptional season.

Shows how far we come over the past couple of seasons that I am pretty gutted that we've missed out on beating Dundee Utd 4 times in a season (or it just shows how horrific this league has been this year). Season is pretty much done, need to get a bit more confidence back into the team before the play offs. As much chance as anyone else if we play as we have showed we can this season.

Shankland is a ghost of the player he was earlier in the season, moving Murdoch out wide was a very bad call.

Dont bother congratulating your own team for actually doing amazing this season, it's all the other teams fault for being awful.

Sour grapes much!

tbf, you're pretty shite for the budget you've spunked this season.

TBF that’s true for everyone bar Alloa this year.

I don't imagine we've spunked a fortune, it will be even less next season.

Seething ayr fans not happy that they didn’t get their own sugar daddy.

We've just about recovered from our last sugar daddy, they're over-rated.

I doubt you have either, and I’m being slightly facetious, but your team is simply the third or fourth least rubbish team, and frankly that’s nothing to be proud of this year.

Ayr looked absolutely out on their feet in the last twenty minutes, just couldn't get any quality into the box.

We weren't out on our feet, we were flapping.

Having the last sugar daddy almost killed us. We'll have to do without one I guess

Shankland’s hairline about as receding as his footballing ability has since the window shut.

As long as we get in the playoffs I'm quite happy for his form to be terrible, I'd rather see it clicking when it's do or die.
