Euro 2020 Play-offs

If Russia has been caught (again) trying to cover up positive drugs tests, how can they be allowed to compete at Euro 2020 where nobody will be sure whether they qualified clean or not?  when is a "worldwide ban" not a worldwide ban?  I guess the amount of money pumped into football from Russian interests will be the decider.

Uefa don't seem to be considered a major event organisation, which is where WADA look to have jurisdiction.
Fifa are though, so it's possible they compete normally in the Euro's but can't participate in the next WC.
Unless FIFA pass down the decision for the Euro's or something (never going to happen).

This.
Despite Uefa giving Scotland hunners of chances to qualify under their new format we are likely to fail miserably.
Qualifying in this fashion would be the utter minter

Denmark didn't look embarrassed last time something similar happened.

Highly unlikely to happen anyway, but nothing to be embarrassed about if it did.  The Russians would be the ones having a minter.

Or indeed by qualifying comfortably.

WADA are not the good guys in this farce.

The government sponsored cheats are the good guys? And we should be ashamed because of it?

I'm afraid I'm missing something here.

While it's clearly not clean-cut, how are WADA "not the good guys"?  There's clearly something very fishy going on in Russia with regards to doping, so WADA are acting.  Not like they're picking on a country where there's no smoke or fire.  Purely from a competition sense, particularly in Athletics, Russia will deserve everything they get.

"everything they get" though will likely be f**k all relating to the Euros.

Russia's doped up cheats were the only thing that stood between us and qualification. Maybe we would have lost to them even if they weren't drugged up to their eyeballs, but we can't know that for sure. If they are appropriately punished for their cheating and we get through then I definitely wouldn't be embarrassed by it. There is no doubt to me that we were the 2nd best (or maybe even best) clean team in the group. Do you think the athletes who get their gold medals after the fact are embarrassed?

Dzuyba had needle tracks in his arms in the world cup, albeit Russia's doctor said it was from blood taking rather than anything going in. His voice alone doesn't count for anything, although the subsequent lack of outcry surely does.

The simple thing is Russia are drug cheats across the whole sporting specturm and a myriad of events.

Their response to being caught is to double down and allege racism. Get them to absolute f**k.

Indeed, Dzyuba was only 5 ft 3 and 7 stone before he started taking his state-sponsored "Cake" pills.

Scotland vs Clean Russia? 4-0 us.

BBC have confirmed this. The ruling will have no effect on the Euro's.

We don't really have a leg to stand on here as it looks like most of our players were on drugs during the qualifying campaign.

Unfortunately, where the Russians were using performance enhancing steroids most of our players played like they were on smack.

Scotland would surely have to take legal action on that basis. It would be ridiculous to allow Russia in when they may have been juiced up throughout the qualifiers.
This might seem naive, but aren't they randomly tested for banned substances anyway? Not just at international level, but on club duty too.

Surely it'll be much more difficult for top footballers to get away with, compared to track and field athletes.
