Thomson miss, absolute shambles of a first goal... and then our arses completely collapse, not for the first time this season. Had a feeling this would be a clear-cut result, because one of the two teams would melt under any pressure. Should have known it would be us. Watching a team lose is one thing, but watching  a team beat itself is fuckin torture.

Fair enough to point out that Johansson has lost whatever scrap of the plot he had in the first place, btw, but the players have to take the rap for that performance: some of the biggest shitebags ever to play for Morton in that team.

The worst player on the park, as usual, was Gregor Buchanan but it's the clueless tool in the dugout who still decides to pick him week in and week out. He has made him the first defender on the team sheet. It's also the manager and his gormless coaching staff who have just had three weeks of full-time training to devote to getting basics right such as defending set pieces - something that the team has failed to do ever since he arrived at the club - yet the team proved no better at it than before. The performance that you see on the park is therefore the direct outcome of terrible management and non-existent coaching; the buck stops in the dugout and there alone.

All that’s fair enough, but the goals weren’t about organisation or defensive drills... The first was one of the worst examples you’ll ever see of nobody at all being even half-way switched on when a (soft) ball floats into the box, the second and third were just penalty-box examples of what happened all over the pitch all day... we’re almost never first to the second ball.  Players don’t (or shouldn’t ) need to be coached or motivated to do that.

What we saw was panic and shitebaggery from the first goal on... scared to play, hardly won a tackle, losing second balls all over the pitch (see above), and, in some cases, an apparent inability to pass a ball two yards had developed by the end. Buchananan was horrendous, but so were McAlister, Waddell, Tumilty (gradually), and Thomson. Telfer should have played his last game for Morton. Even Millar looked like he’d never seen a ball for spells in the second half.

I can’t believe Johansson will actually be in the dug-out tonight after that... but whoever ends up replacing him needs to empty any trace of shitebaggery from the squad as a matter of priority. Whoever finishes second in League One will look at us and think ‘give us them, please’.

Change the offenders names and this could have been written by a Thistle fan for most of this season.
