East Fife V Raith Rovers

Recommended Posts

Didn't see that coming at all, we hadn't even tested their keeper with a shot on goal before we score 2 in 3 mins.  East Fife must be wondering what happened that they lost that game, cause to be fair we were pretty shite until the last 8 or 9 mins.  After scoring the equaliser it seemed to galvanise the team into thinking they could actually win this game, absolute joy at the final whistle from all the shellshocked rovers supporters:thumsup2 this team need to start believing in themselves if we are to progress in the playoffs.  Nice one Forfar to score the winner against Arbroath in 90 +2, but prolonging the agony of them winning the league when we play them on the 21st.

When that ball came back off the crossbar, it seemed to take an eternity for any rovers player to react. Man of the match had to be euan murray from a raith point of view, thought he won most high balls and just looked the best of a bad bunch. Crane i would get shot of, exposed for their goal and delivery is poor most of the time.

God that was painful viewing from the last 10-15 mins. How we sat that deep to let them back in the game was absolutely criminal. Nothing between the teams whatsoever and you'd struggle to tell who were the full-time outfit. Anyroads, enjoy your night Linos....4 attempts to finally beat the part-timers though emoji23.png

Do your loan players not train full time? It's hardly the full time superstars versus the plucky part timers who have just finished a 12 hour shift down the pit. Majority of your players either train full time or have recently played full time. Difference in wages also minimal.  The derby games means alot to both set of fans, especially when we are in the same league.  Anybody who says otherwise is talking nonsense, but the Pars games still mean more.  Very little between the sides in all 4 games this season.  There are very few rovers fans who believe we will get promoted, but one of the crumb of highlights from this season is that our poorest team for around 15 years is still 10 points ahead of one of east fife's strongest, despite east fife fans constantly reminding us how poor we are. The derby defeat has now seriously dented there play off hopes, so that's an added bonus along with a last minute winner past the goalie who disgraced himself in the previous fixture at Bayview.

Hard to take and easy with hindsight but felt we Should have brought on Docherty to settle the midfield  when we were under pressure.Thought the back four did well to hold out for so long.Raith weren’t great but kept going .After Brett Long’ sendingoff strange that Murray’ s behaviour to East Fife fans after the winner went unpunished.
Did Murray sprint over to the East Fife fans knee slide towards them yelling "yass, get it up yous" . No he did not, now away with you and your salty tears.

Agree with your point about Docherty, he should have been brought on to see the game out and we could have been talking about another Derby victory tonight!!!

But have to disagree about Murray, he was getting it tight for the entire 2nd half and in my view deserves to GIRFUY, Crane on the other hand though, he was anonymous for the entire game, received absolutely no abuse or stick whatsoever but proceeds to give it the "Booby Barr's" to us after their winner, where did that come from???

Anyway Long shouldn't have been sent off so Murray shouldn't either!!!

Majority???

Think you had more loanees on display than we did, we have had a total of four, this season; Currie, Higgins, Watson and Murdoch and out of that lot only Higgins was on the field, Currie and Murdoch weren't even in the match day squad!!!

And if you add up all your players who have played full time in recent years that would make the majority. I know you are raging but please read what I said.

Again your answer would be a no, but as one of the few who was full time is Jonny Court your argument is void!!!

We had 4 loanees today Mr Kebabby, Gullin who did well, Barjonas who was fairly anonymous, McGuffie who came on as a 2nd half sub and Crane who gifted you every opportunity in the first 45 including letting your man run 50 yards unchallenged for the cross that Smith scored from.  At least East Fife fouled us to stop breakaways, we didn't even manage that.

Well Raith got away with one there, our keeper hasn't had to make a save for the entire game and then loses two right at the death!!!
Nothing between the teams but fair play, Raith fought to the end, probably to make up for the fact that it had looked like they had thrown in the towel after the first 10 minutes!!!
We were masters of our own downfall and it was criminal how deep we sat for the last 15 minutes, it just invited the pressure on and the they scored from it!!!!
Enjoy your night Rovers fans it's been a season in coming!!!

Clearly you seen the game different from me first 20 mins was all Rovers then the remainder of the half East Fife woke up and realised they were at a football game, Second half mostly Rovers in terms of possession but to say we got away with one get a grip.

Jeezo you really are raging. How many of the 11 players plus the 2 subs who played for east fife today have been at full time clubs in the last 2 or 3 seasons? The answer is the majority. I await your apology.

We started well, then fell out the game and found ourselves 1-0 down. Second half didn’t look much better, then we made a couple of subs and had a great end to the game.

First away win of 2019 against a team we’d failed to beat in our previous 3 attempts. Can’t be bad. Onwards and upwards. Could do with a couple more wins for us and a couple more Arbroath defeats to make it really interesting on Sunday 21st April.
