It was the bands second album and was released in November 1988 on Factory [Produced by Martin Hannett]. This is still an excellent album and , in my opinion, was the Monday's at their best. Peter Hook has said, at the time, they hated the production on Unknown Pleasures and Closer because, as he put it, they just wanted the albums to sound "RAAAAWWWW" as in the way they sounded live. I think because of the Easter holidays the word "Holiday" got stuck in my head (and in turn the track from Pills n Thrills). Lazy Itis was a bit of an anthem at my first weekend/holiday job. Bez & Shaun levels of drug taking all round. Cheers for posting - got Bummed lined up to listen to now. Had totally forgotten how good they were. 50/50 Winner Posted April 11, 2019 Share Posted April 11, 2019 Following on from its 21st anniversary re-release, I've had Rafi's Revenge by Asian Dub Foundation on repeat the past week or so. It is such a great album and has been one of my favourite albums since it came out. There's a tremendous energy to the songs and Dr Das is a ridiculously good bass player. I have only managed to see them live once when they were supporting Radiohead on their 'Hail to the theif' tour. I'm not usually one for protest songs but the track 'Free Satpal Ram' did well to highlight the injustice experienced by a guy who was jailed for 15 years for an act of self defence. 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My word, I'd forgotten how good it sounds. Full of really catchy songs IMO. I remember catching a glimpse of myself in the video of 'Falter' which was filmed at TITP 2002. I was at high school when that came out, and I went through a phase of wearing a parka jacket zipped up in all weather on the basis of that being the craze at the time. The bands debut album 'George Best' is regarded by many as their best and regularly features in Best Of Indie lists. Those accolades left this album slightly in the shade but it's still a belter. Dan Steele Posted May 9, 2019 Share Posted May 9, 2019 Since watching the profile of Woody Guthrie on bbc4 the other week I've been thinking about Vigilante Man. Will Kaufmann, who was talking about Woody, does a damned good cover of it and Ry Cooder's take is superb but I've just played Razamanaz by Nazareth and have to say, their version is brilliant.
