That seems like an unfair advantage! We'd prob draw, dunno if that gives us a total of 2 points though, very confusing. Could get interesting if Motherwell beat Hib, don't think Livi or St Johnstone have it in them to win 3 games on the bounce just now though, which they'd have to do to have a chance, and Hibs would need to lose their next 3 games too. Knowing us we'd beat Aberdeen and Hibs them f**k it up against Accies.
buddie06smfc
Pointless inclusion of St Johnstone & Livingston in this thread.
PauloPerth
If Hibs win tomorrow against Motherwell then it's all over. Saints need to scrape a win against St Mirren to maintain a slight interest in top 6, then get a win at Motherwell the following week. Massive ask going by recent form. My prediction .. Hibs will get a few draws over the last four matches to clinch sixth. Would have fancied Motherwell as the form team, but they have the hardest run-in. I think if they do it after those fixtures, and from how far back they've come, then they've definitely earned it.

RandomGuy.
Hibernian 2-0 Motherwell Aberdeen 1-1 Livingston St Johnstone P-P St Mirren Hibs win makes this thread redundant, as it becomes just a matter of when, not if, it becomes impossible for Livingston and St Johnstone to overtake them. Motherwell still have a slim chance, but unlikely considering their fixtures.

Lofarl
Only two points behind Hearts, who entertain Aberdeen then away to Rangers before the Derby.
PauloPerth
What's the opposite of going right down to the wire? Because this race is done before it even got started.
RandomGuy.
Livingston drop put of contention, 7 points behind Hibs with 9 to play for isnt something they can overcome. Added in Hearts in due to their run of games... Hearts Aberdeen (h) Rangers (a) Hibernian (h) Hibernian Livingston (a) Kilmarnock (h) Hearts (a) St Johnstone Motherwell (a) Dundee (h) Kilmarnock (a) Motherwell St Johnstone (h) Aberdeen (a) Rangers (h) Still feel like itll finish the way it us. St Johnstone and Motherwell just too far behind at this stage to take advantage of any slip up, Hearts the wildcard as you could easy see them losing all three. Any point cements their position though. Intrigued to see if the BBC decide to change their article, which ripped this thread off, this week to include Hearts.
Kyle
Whoever loses between Motherwell and St Johnstone on Saturday are out of the top 6 race. A draw knocks both out too if Hibs beat Livi on Friday. I can see Hearts losing all 3 of their remaining games so 6 points might just be enough for us. We'd either need to give someone a doing or hope Hearts get a humping off someone but that could be pretty lol if all conquering Hearts end up in the bottom 6.
Widge
I think we can all say on this thread that we’d love to see Hearts bottom 6, that would be absolutely hilarious given they were going to win the league in October. [emoji23]I can see us picking up 6 points from the next 3 games, it’s the Saints way, but miss out by a goal or something like that.
crispy
On one hand I think we deserve the place because of what we’ve done in our first season back... On the other hand we’ve missed some absolute sitters and lost games narrowly, a couple of terrible performances (e.g. Dundee 2-1, St Mirren 1-0, Hamilton 1-0, St Johnstone 1-0 twice ). Half decent teams wouldn’t have lost those games. Our defence has been amazing but our lack of cutting edge means ending up just outside the top 6 is hard to argue with.

Yeah, we are where we deserve to be. Well ahead of relegation, but not good enough for top 6. That horrible run post-christmas has done us in. That and 1-0 away losses to St Mirren & Hamilton, 0-0 up in Dundee. Just our away form in general really. Still, plenty of time to regroup and claim 7th. Difference between 7th and 9th is more than we got for winning League 1 two years ago, so it's worth keeping up the fight.

Aye, we’ve had a couple of sh1te results and it’s mainly been due to lack of cutting edge. On the whole I think there’s only a couple of hours of football where we’ve been pummelled.
LIVIFOREVER
Any chance we had ended with the away defeat to St Mirren, after that we needed to rely on a big slice of luck with other results, as well as winning our remaining games. Would be interesting to see how close we'd get to it winning our last 3 games to play before the split though, would be soo funny if we managed to get above Hearts on GD.

For extra banter points, you ought to end up with exactly 5 more points of GD than Hearts at the end of the season.

RandomGuy.
Just for the sake of finishing this off, this is the table now. Congratulations to Hearts and Hibernian on their top half finish, and to Motherwell and Livingston for their top 8 finish. A great achievement for Livingston in their first season up especially.

Em, Motherwell could still reach the top 6. Hibs are only 5 points ahead with 6 left to play for. Unrealistic, but It was unrealistic before today as well.
