How come all of the Kazakhstan fans looked Asian but none of their players did?

Get this investigated SFA. Something fishy going on.  There's points to be claimed back here...

This is utter bullshit.

Boyd didn't just spit the dummy because he went for a fucking scale and polish instead of playing for Scotland - he was left on the bench watching inferior strikers get chance after chance for the country.

He eventually jacked it because George Burley told THE PRESS post-Iwelumo that KB "still had to prove himself" despite having been one of the most lethal forwards in the country for years.

The Scotland setup failed Kris Boyd, not the other way round. It's you who's forgotten that.

Boyd was far superior at scoring against medicocre opposition. His physique, fitness and general attitude was the very most mediocre. He wasn't trusted at Rangers in Europe also for that reason.

The second one maybe he could have come off the line quicker but the other two no chance. The third one in particular short of being about seven feet tall he was never getting to. The ball actually curled in towards the goal. He was never getting near it unless he came to challenge for the cross itself.

You need to watch the third again.

First goal

Screenshot_20190322-074100_YouTube.thumb.jpg.5cfcd82650ca24111f56292ea2c4038c.jpg

Hes caught in no man's land, and has no chance of saving the shot because for some reason he ends up running backwards from this position when the shot is taken.

Second goal

Screenshot_20190322-074143_YouTube.thumb.jpg.f83fe328b236cdd68e173e4eb441b03a.jpg

He can see this move the whole way, yet is still rooted to the spot even when the pass is obvious where it going. When the shot gets taken...

Screenshot_20190322-074201_YouTube.thumb.jpg.551d1d56c7bf97e563172be43decaade.jpg

... hes moved about two yards, and the striker just pokes it past him, any keeper who saw the pass and moved quicker would've saved it.

Third goal

Screenshot_20190322-074321_YouTube.thumb.jpg.a075995aee333956c80fe179c579b4fc.jpg

Any idea why he was so far out the centre of his goal? He was virtually level with the left post, and left a massive gaping hole for the attacker to aim for.

Not once in the highlights does it appear he gives anyone a shout. First goal he can see the player making the run, second goal he should be able to see the whole thing, and third goal he can see the player about to challenge McKenna. Not once does he shout, signal, anything.

An inexperienced defence who haven't played together are absolutely fucked if the one man who can see what's going on doesn't actually help them.

First one he doesnt get lobbed its just a great finish positioning  may have been a bit better overall . For the second you expect him to rush out when everyone is expecting the defender to deal with it? 3rd again positioning could have been better but he really isnt at fault for any of the goals.  The entire defence was arguably worse than him last night.

Boyd quit on the country because he went in a huff. Trying to defend that purely because he plays for your club is just utterly pathetic.

He doesn’t play enough club football to determine he plays any role effectively

This. Hes played 30 games for Man U by the age of 22, that's a similar amount of appearances as Liam Miller managed for them.

First one he doesn't attempt to save a shot that passes his shoulder, because hes wound up off balance as hes backing off.

You can argue about the others because hes a Celtic player if you wish, but they're preventable if the defenders get told what's happening. That's his biggest failing, always has been.

Minter of a post.  Absolutely no way you'd be posting this if Boyd didn't have his Killie connections.

He may have had justification in being annoyed at being left out but that isn't an excuse for anyone to throw their toys out the pram.  What a fucking awful precedent we'd be setting if we said what Boyd did was anything other than childish and selfish.

It really didn’t. Boyd’s issue was that he thought because he was banging them in for rangers against vastly inferior opposition it meant he should start for scotland. He forgot that when playing for scotland he was the inferior opposition so thus needed to do more than just score goals

I personally didnt really rate him untill a few months ago. I still think Gordons a better shot stopper but The celtic defence are far more at ease with him there, surely communication has a lot to do with that.

Number of games played shouldnt really matter. England are away give that hudson-adoyi (spelling?) a start against czech republic and he has hardly played. For the record I don’t buy into the hype of McTominay yet. However, he did play fantastic against PSG in that defensive midfield role just a few weeks ago so clearly he could have done the same last night. There was no cushion for the defence. It didnt help that McGinn kept losing the fucking ball

Yes we have had a few players in or around the top teams but Robertson aside they’re not game changing players that you need to win games at the top level. It’s unfortunate really that we’ve not had a decent attacking player since the 1990s. McFadden in some games that’s about it.

How many of our players since Euro 96 would hold down a regular place in a top side? None. For some reason though we hold this bizarre fantasy that we are actually some sort of good side that should be doing better than we are with the players we have.

Since Euro 96?

Hendry, McAllister, Lambert, Collins, Davidson, Weir, Fletcher, McFadden, Gordon, Hutton, Robertson, Adam, Caldwell, McCulloch, McGregor, Dailly, Johnston, McCann, Hutchinson and plenty of others I'm forgetting. So not even close to none.

That's beside the point though. As per the numerous examples already stated you don't need 'world class' players to get to tournaments. You need decent players (which we have) who are coaches properly and are made to feel confident by said coaches.

Leaving your elite sports club at the weekend only to be met by McLeish, McFadden and Grant must make facing International duty extremely uninspiring for a lot of the squad. These players are automatons who are used to highly detailed tactical preparation and are required to understand exactly what their roles are; to the letter. Most of the time, when they fail to follow out these tactics they lose, and can only blame themselves; unless they have a shite coach who employs shite tactics in an incoherent manner.

The players have shown a lack of professionalism against Kazakhstan but McLeish, et al, have displayed complete and utter incompetence repeatedly and it's time to GTF.  I want to turn up to Hampden to see these guys play the way they are able to play, but they need a far higher level of coaching when they meet up for Internationals. What they have now seems even beneath Primary School level (no offence to Primary School coaches, and most of them probably have better motivational techniques and better tactical nous than the nonsense currently coaching at the elite level).

Hopefully the players will take control on Sunday and bypass the management like they did against Israel at Hampden; if the management isn't working, manage yourself.

How can they bypass management and take control if they're automatons?

I think its fantastic.  They're right on the cusp of both continents and I thought seeing their line up of Asian and Caucasian players side by side was pretty cool.  Places like Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are the same.

Seems to be bit of a common occurrence in his displays with Scotland. Assuming he isn't like this at club level?

Just watched the highlights back, cannot get over how bad the defending was.

I don't think Bain is very good, but to be pinning the blame on him is unbelievable.

Hes as culpable as the rest of the defence, anyway.

You think Aberdeen will still be holding out for £9m for McKenna ?

The first one he would have been fucked if he kept coming out, it would have left an easy lob. As it turned out he ended up fucked by backtracking as it left him off balance. The finish was tremendous. I'd have said Bain was at fault, but less at fault than Shinnie for playing the boy onside, and the midfield for giving the boy who played the pass all the time in the world to do it.

Second one I agree with you above, Bain could have done better, but Shinnie should never have let the ball get in behind him, and again, the midfield gave their player all the time he could have dreamed of to pick the pass.

Third one I think you are being a tad harsh on Bain. It was a simple ball across that should have been meat and drink to McKenna. He is the only one to blame for both misjudging the flight of the ball and not putting a challenge in on the attacker.

I disagree, but it's all opinions.

I've only saw the goals once, but the still shots above can't be used in any serious discussion about positioning etc
