Kazakhstan V Scotland

Without even knowing if this is true or not, South Ireland have better coaches, both at youth level and senior, in all sports.

A wee insight into what you're up against Scotland:

Here in Japan every high school kid from 11yo that picks football as their "club activity" receives 1-2hours coaching Monday to Friday and all day Sunday either training or playing a game against a rival school.

After the best school in the Prefecture (Region) is decided over the year, said school goes on to play the other best school Prefectures in a knock out competition which is shown live on TV in December.

They do the same for baseball and rugby.

Anyone complaining about the cost should bear in mind that since the Asian stock market crash in 97, Japan has one of the highest debt to GDP rates on the planet.

They should all be given medals and their money back for sitting through that.

Nah, it's their loyalty that allows these p***ks to perpetuate the shite, hit them where it hurts, let Scotland play home games in empty stadiums until the beaks start implementing a proper plan to improve our game.

He sounded like Teresa May there. We started brightly he lied. 2 down in 9 minutes. It was the worst ever result in history. Like Mays deal. He then blamed all his players. Least he knows how to remove us from Europe quickly.

The usual discussions about developing players, kids playing football and the standard and nature of coaching in this country are of course relevant here, but the fact is that we fielded a team of players today more than good enough to beat Kazakhstan. Fucking Kazakhstan. We've got a decent pool of players at our disposal; right-back and possibly up front aside, either established players of a very decent quality or young players progressing well at their clubs make up the bulk of our squad. We didn't lose this game today because nine-year-olds are playing eleven-a-side with full-sized goals, nor because games consoles and YouTube have stolen some of football's market share as the extra-curricular activities of our kids. We lost it because we've got a complete joke of a governing body which has been failing us for a long time now, and in the past decade pretty glaringly so across the board. A governing body which failed to appoint a genuinely interested party who looked the perfect fit in favour of a guy whose sell-by date has long since passed.

Loads of the Scottish ‘Premiership’ games have been played in empty stadiums for years and haven’t seen the beaks implementing any decent plans.

It's the National side that needs boycotting for this plan to oust the "beaks" to work.

Scotland is still relatively well supported comparatively......sadly.

If we had a population of 126 million we would manage to be as shite as Japan.

Anybody else going? Should be an experience.

Anyway how will we be lining up?

Well we do our usual a f**k it against some minnows from the East?

With the greatest of respect, you'd have to be off your f*cking rocker to spend that kind of money watching that utter shite.

I doubt if I'd leave The Clockwork if Scotland were playing at Hampden.

Ah the old population argument....... Croatia, Iceland etc etc.

As for Japan being shite.......they made to knock out stages of last year's World Cup and put up a pretty decent show v Belgium. We'll see soon enough how Scotland do in a competitive game versus them.....

Everyone is moaning but the reality is that if you have two centre backs with less than 100 top level appearances between them, a right back who has never held down a first team spot for any length of time in the English lower leagues and a left back who is a mediocre midfielder who specialises in being a better looking Scott Brown then you are not going to win anywhere. If Robertson, Tierney and Mulgrew bother their arse to play and it's a different story.

Got shouted down by a few earlier.

Apparently, just cos you play in the English Premiership, doesn’t make you that good.

For various reasons we were missing 10 English Premiership regulars today and we all saw what happened.

You cannot miss out on quality like that and expect everything to be okay.

The opposition were totally underestimated.

We have a specialist defensive midfielder in McTominay. Good enough to help Man Utd win 5 games in a row and beat PSG away from home. But not good enough for Scotland.

Says it all really.

McLeish must go and he must go now.
