Morton v The Wasps

Recommended Posts

It’s been said plenty but we are really getting to the “must win” games. Been in a bit of a poor run of late and not sure that we have been playing to our footballing strengths recently. Would be leaving Hamilton on the bench for this one after the Dunfermline game. Anyway, Greenock on Saturday to cheer the boys on, with the same result as last time the teams met would do just fine

Yes best of luck.

JJ has at last found his best team and  they are well capable of getting a result on grass.

This is a game which should confirm our expected mid table position as long as we do not apply the hold on to what we have as we did last time out against Alloa.

Kilty to grab a brace with Mc Hugh if fit grabbing one once he gets off the bench

McHugh is out for a month, so he won't be scoring this weekend.

A win here probably keeps up safe of bottom place, but we still need a few more points to keep us clear of eighth.

Hope we can a result, just to avoid all the St. Mirren fans bombarding us with pictures of Jim Goodwin.

Must win this one. Too few shots, in recent games, particularly at Cappielow. The games against QOS and Falkirk brought an improvement (albeit small), in this respect. Need to be quick and purposeful in attack, win the midfield battle, and not try and hold on, if we get ahead.

Hell of a month this for Alloa... almost impossible to imagine a more difficult run of fixtures in this division. It would be so like Morton to kick it all off for you with three gift-wrapped points...

I'm hoping we beat, but don't break Alloa; would love to see them still well in the mix when they get to Partick, QOS, and McKinnon's Manky Mob next month.

Edited to add: as for Goodwin, your enemy's enemy is your friend; hope he and his team go from strength to strength after 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The Alloans, along with the Pars, have been the away best teams to have played at Scapa. They’ve 3 of the best players in the league; the Goalie, Graham & Flanagan (he’s gotta be in the league team) but they find themselves where they are. If we hadn’t lost 6 points to them, which we did lose, look where we’d be btw. It’s a defo win on Sat for us, which going by the rest of the fixtures will put us back in the PO mix. Astonishing. Here’s to Thistle stuffing the honking mercenaries too!

Robbo, Kev ('Mr 300 games') and Kirky in for me. Trouts, Shields and Hamilton to drop out.

They claim that we are the ones looking for a rivalry. Probably the biggest thing to ever happen to Morton.

Think that’s the first time in years we’ve had a game postponed due to a water logged pitch.
