And how come inches get an """ (that's a quotation mark inside quotation marks) whereas other units get an abbreviation?

I demand answers.

The imperial abbreviations are a bit weird too.

Pound - lb

Feet - '

Inches - "

Working in a timber merchant can be a pain at times, most of the older generation of customers use the "imperial" system, whereas we work with the metric system.

Men like to overestimate the size of their penises. I have to do the opposite not to scare off the ladies, so deliberately mistake cm for inches.

One of my yearly jokes to students is telling them to make sure that they have their units correct, as there is a big difference between 8cm and 8 inches.

No-one has ever laughed.
