NavyBlueArmy1876
I don't think McKinnon has been approaching games too negatively if you look at the fixtures. 2 wins and 2 draws from 4 away games against Ayr, Partick, Alloa and Morten is a good return in my book. 1 win and 2 draws from the last 3 at home doesn't make for such good reading, but considering one of those was against draw specialists Inverness and the other a much improved Dundee Utd I don't think that's too bad. Of all those games the only one I've really been disappointed with our approach in was Partick. It's still 7 games unbeaten and considering we've played the last half hour of two of those matches with 10 men there's plenty to be positive about imo
D'Jaffo
Four up front would be madness. Ayr play a flat 4-4-2 I believe, we need to get three grafters in the middle to take the advantage there. The ball very rarely finds its way into the midfield with us. We’d rather just punt it long for 90 minutes.

So Rudden up front on his own with Petra or DKD supporting him v Ayr and Petra v RC. He'll hope to snatch a win against Ayr and will try to shitfest a draw in Dingwall. If we manage that and Alloa & Partick's results go in our favour he may then take the shackles of a bit and use a more expansive formation for the run-in. This is the primary reason for our poor run form since, pretty much, October. In the main, we have remained defensively solid but have struggled to break down teams who have adopted a more defensive approach against us than they did in the opening months of the season. It's no coincidence that our best performances since October have come against Ross County and Dundee United, two sides who won't countenance a more defensive approach against us, particularly at home. Pretty easy decision for McKinnon you would think to try and repeat the approach that worked so well at Somerset at the start of January.
Bairney The Dinosaur
Robson will be playing LB. #Bombing I think that McShane and Osman/Paton would be a bit overrun in the middle, no? Shodwall cat
Well all 3 games so far have been pretty tight and that was when we had one of the worst falkirk sides in living memory. You'd like to fancy our chances now then with a much better side as long as we can keep 11 players on the park. Time to go two up top though. Senor Bairn
Need to get a win from this imho, being undefeated is great and that but we're drawing too much for my liking, with Partick and Alloa both playing on the Saturday, a big win from us sticks the pressure on them immediately. Only change Id go for would be Robson in for Dixon.

In fairness we have had some valid excuses in this poor run with key players such as Shankland, Kerr & Forrest being out injured, Smith also missing a couple of games and with our size of pool it's not ideal. Add to that the Moore sending off against Morton at Somerset, the innocuous penalty at home to Dunfermline and the various missed chances we had in most of these games to turn defeats into draws and draws into wins and we really aren't a million miles away. Don't get me wrong, we've been nowhere near our best recently and have been poor in a few of the matches, however I don't think we need to be at our best to still get results in this league and the fact that even in our poor run and even with our injuries that we haven't been outplayed or outclassed in any of the matches (apart from Dingwall last week), tells me that a wee winning run may not be that far away.......... MrDust
I'm not confident, thought Ayr did ok v County more so 2nd half, tho don't think County are all that bar having a big squad of semi decent players. Still think Shankland is overrated
Russ
Just me that would play Brough at left back with Dixon suspended?Much as I love Tommy he was giving me the fear defensively when he came on against Morton. Probably more deserving of a red than Dixon as well imo.

Russ
Why?After his booking me made a daft tackle to give away a foul out wide and I genuinely thought he was going to be off. Was certainly more worthy of a booking than either of Dixon’s.

Canny mind who actually committed the 1st foul (may have been McLean).
Guest
I think we are still playing with the hand brake on. I would love to see Toderov beside Rudden to see if it helps us get up the pitch and allow Rudden a much freer role. He is hopeless back to goal (the goal we lost Friday started with his poor touch). Get the ball in the box he has proved he can score at this level. We just don’t do it enough. Would play same middle three with DKD off the front two. Robson in for Dixon. I agree with this, however, I just can't see Ray dropping Petra. Just before Zak scored on Friday I sent a txt to my Dad saying "he's not effective tonight", which obviously meant he was going to score. He works his arse off but having him chasing balls into the wing isn't going to score us goals
