"First and foremost, no fans should be allowed on the pitch. That is down to the security. It shouldn't happen.”

He never said a word when 2 Rangers fans came on the pitch and attacked Griffiths and Brown at Ibrox 2 years ago.

Nothing is going to change until clubs take responsibility for their own fans!

Hibs are no worse than any other 'top' club in Scotland. We all have our fair share of scummy fans. Even clubs such as St Mirren have problems. Falkirk and Motherwell have previous.

This is only going to end one way. A player or official will be seriously injured and then the Government will be left with no option but to step in and i am sure , as football fans,  that is the very last thing we want to happen.

If clubs agree to strict liability then the decent supporters of all these clubs will step in and self police. IMHO it is the only answer.

Tbh i am sick of what is happening to the game in Scotland. Officials hit by coins , Managers attacked, Players attacked, missiles thrown into areas housing opposing fans. children bottled on buses etc etc etc

Never happened mate.

You should try telling Peter Lawwell that as they had the poor lad as a guest of the club as a way of saying sorry. Nice gesture by the club. Its a shame they have people like you who are unwilling to condemn a child being bottled by Neds.

From the BBC .....

A 10-year-old boy was hit in the face by a bottle thrown at a minibus as he travelled to Sunday's Celtic v Rangers football match in Glasgow.

The boy, who was going to the game for the first time, was treated in hospital for a hairline fracture to his face and has three teeth missing.

The 10-year-old was in a minibus of Rangers fans sitting in traffic at Cathcart Road, near Hampden Stadium.

A group of Celtic fans surrounded the bus and hurled abuse at the occupants.

Det Con Kenneth MacEwan said: "This was an appalling assault on the boy who was with his dad and fellow supporters going to his first Celtic v Rangers game.

"He never got to the match but instead was detained overnight in hospital and has a facial injury and teeth missing."

Det Con MacEwan said it appeared that the bottle was deliberately thrown at the minibus but the boy was not specifically targeted.

The man who threw the bottle was described as white, 5ft 11in tall and of heavy build. He was wearing green clothing and possibly a white beanie hat.

He and the men he was with continued along Cathcart Road and into Cathkin Park towards Hampden.

A TOP cop has condemned the bottle attack that left a young Rangers fan needing stitches to a head wound.

The sickening incident, before Sunday's clash between Celtic and Rangers at Hampden, resulted in 11-year-old Kraig MacKay being rushed to hospital by ambulance instead of watching his heroes on the pitch.

Kraig, from Dennistoun in Glasgow, was making his way to the Betfred Cup semi-final with his aunt and uncle via Aikenhead Road when he was struck by the object.

It's thought to have happened after a group of Celtic fans left the city's Montford House Bar, on the other side of the road to where the boy was, and started shouting at Rangers supporters.

Football-daft Kraig - excited to attend his first Old Firm match - sustained a large gash on his head and had be treated at the Royal Hospital for Children, receiving seven stitches.

Reacting to the assault, Police Scotland Chief Superintendent Brian McInulty said it was an "abhorrent" attack that had shocked the communities of Glasgow.

He added: "Let's be clear - this was an attack on a young boy who could possibly be left with a scar. A football game is not an excuse for violence, ever."

"Any football fan would not take part in such mindless violence, particularly throwing a bottle into a crowd with the intention to deliberately hurt someone, that person ultimately being a child."

Insisting that the perpetrator must be caught and re-iterating the police clampdown on similar "mindless" behaviour, he told how officers are continuing their enquiries and encouraged any witnesses to come forward.

Kraig's shaken mum, Laura, begged the person who hurt her boy to admit to their actions.

She also revealed she had shared images of her son's injuries to stop anything like it happening in the future.

"Maybe he has a kid himself. I want him to see the state Kraig was in. How would he feel if this was his boy?"

There were 18 arrests for public disorder in and around Hampden yesterday.

Praising "genuine" supporters, Chief Superintendent McNulty thanked the majority of the 50,000 strong crowd who behaved well and enjoyed the game.

Once again I can't help but think this problem would be, if not entirely removed, at least massively ameliorated by the immediate and permanent shutting down of both Celtic and Sevco football clubs.

Any reports from after the story broke? Police investigation etc. I’ll answer that for you, none, cause it never happened. I worked with a guy at that time who knows the father and knows people who go on that supporters bus and it never happened.

Do you believe everything you read in the paper?

Do you believe everything you are told?

Seriously what is the matter with people like yourself? It happened and there are direct quotes in the reports. Celtic had the lad along to a game as an apology.

Anyway it is not about individual behaviour but more to do with every club and especially the larger club having a fair number of nuggets in their support.

I am sure many shouting for the Hibs stand to be closed etc sit in the sandy Jardine stand at Ibrox. The stand some dafty came from to confront Scott Brown. Celtic fans shouting for Rangers to be fined for songs probably sit near those who hung effigies in mock executions.

It is sickening what is going on and there is no sign of it ending anytime soon. If the clubs are not willing to take action then the authorities must step in and we have nobody to blame but ourselves.

Anyway it is off to the match i go as the Motorway is seemingly murder. Enjoy your evening and hopefully we will be discussing Rangers ending your treble treble dreams in the semi final from tomorrow onwards
