The short film about football on a Saturday was excellent. Those wee vignettes every week are probably my favourite part of the show.

The back of my jacket, the back of my head and my pint of cider are in that short film.

Would love for them to have it on iPlayer for 28 days for Season 3 - maybe they might need to get the SPFL to sign off for that?

Caught up with this today. Aztec Camera were a class choice for the opening sequence. Marvin Bartley was golden, defo needs to come back on for season 3. Loved him going in at Borthwick.

Arbroath deserved team of the year, Glasgow City and Celtic do what they're expected to do. Good to see them talk about the pyramid and advocate for automatic relegation.

Chris McQueer's story was worst than the last one, but I still thought it was okay. Nowhere near as bad as folk on here say. Kids were class, as per usual.

Fowler gets a bit of stick for being a stubborn, miserable p***k. However, I think he brings it all together, he takes the other 3 to task and keeps them firmly planted on the ground.

If anyone reads the Newsletter email, it's absolutely hilarious. Joel getting recognised in the Guggenheim sounds very surreal. Pun Intended.

Yes, I suppose it's possible he thought it was Number 10 who scored.  If so, he was the only one though. It would also mean he was talking utter pish, given that he was raving about the Number 9.
Either way, it's the sort of gibberish that would be widely derided on here, were it offered on Sportscene.

Aye, he made an arse of it but it's not Sportscene.
It's blokes making comments like everyone on here, sometimes they get it wrong.
The clue is in the title of the programme.

Best bit of the show by far, it was filmed absolutely perfectly.

The piece they done last week about the Raith Rovers fans on the supporters bus was also excellent. You hear old firm fans regularly shouting about being the best fans in the world, but these sort of fans that follow their team all over the country in the lower leagues deserve massive credit. It’s easy to follow a winning team all over the country, not as easy going to a midweek game to watch a loss to Peterhead.

Just put HYYTS at the end of every episode.

This with a video in the background for me. The ones I saw on twitter with THISTLE playing when the Joker is dancing on the steps and the one where that guy dances outside his car are my favourite things this year.

What weird logic.

Are we so pleased to see coverage of wee teams that we're perfectly happy with some of it being palpable nonsense?

The fierce tribal loyalty this programme inspires is odd.  Any trace of criticism tends to get pounced on, even if it's clearly valid.

Your condemnation is way too harsh though.

It's a light hearted look at Scottish football. It also gives a much more fan-centric perspective than anything else on TV.

It's funny and irreverent, as well as being v both informed and informative. And it's giving a showcase to a good load of artists and documentary makers that struggle to get much TV airtime.

If your initial post had been:

"They've given that striker too much credit for his goal against queens. The scorer stands still and knocks it in and they're bigging him up like ravanelli. "

...then no-one would've taken issue. But you slaughtered the guy for it, and then followed it up with the "ahh everyone on here is so blinkered, you wouldn't get that with sportscene".

The tone of your post was the issue, particularly the "utter nonsense for all to see".

You really are missing why this show is in its particular format and not set up like Sportscene or MOTD.

I'm not at all.

Its format marks a very welcome departure from programmes like that.  It doesn't however mean that when talking about action we're actually simultaneously watching, it's great if a presenter talks evident nonsense.

I can't listen to that Patreon boy with the bizzare Dundee accent. I realise I sound like a parochial weegie but I know folk from Dundee and absolutely zero of them sound like that. There was a podcast a while back where he made repeated references to somebody called Nadir Shifty who as far as I'm aware does not exist.
