A View From The Terrace.

Last night's was very good.

I still think it wouldn't suffer by being slightly shorter, but it's informative, pretty entertaining, and the format works well.  I'd have liked the myth about Rangers' top flight absence damaging Scottish football to have been more comprehensively busted.  They made it sound genuinely debatable.

All in all though, it's well worth watching.

Enjoyable show again last night.  Really nice touch to have YNWA to close it, albeit the boy singing it wasn't the best.

The bit with the guy from Hutchie Vale was really good, he spoke a lot of sense.

Show was terrific again. Hutchie Vale thing was a wee bit misleading though. Well known that Hutchie have spent years and years lifting the best youth players from everybody else. I recall in my own time playing youth football in Edinburgh our two best players being poached by Hutchie then discarded when it didn't work out. Fair enough you can argue they provide better coaching and a better chance of making it to the next level, but important to put the thing in context.

Hutchie are notorious for running massive squads and not rotating them at all. They have squads of 20 odd bairns and half them are cover. You've got very decent young players who barely play. They also don't release them when they are sick of it. Source, wee brother played with Spartans, ended up having two players from Hutchie who joined them in about December after this happening and Hutchie refused to release them so they couldn't play for the rest of the season.

Some folk would think you’re a no-Mark VL for this but I think fair fucks to you! I hope Mr and Mrs Sked enjoyed their pints of Tennent’s (if they didn’t both want a pint of T I’d have retracted my offer)

I was absolutely steaming and just off the train at Dumbarton in the pub across from the train platform. Was my round, stood at the bar, he was also at the bar ordering and I thought I was seeing things. Asked him what his name was and when he replied Joel i just told the bar woman to add whatever drinks he was ordering to my tab. Quick chat for a minute then left them to it.

I'm sure Joel had Tennents and his Mrs had a Dark Fruits

Those final songs are getting more horrific by the week, as if it's a running joke now.  Northern Lights loon seemed sublime in comparison that You'll Never Walk Alone effort, which says quite a lot.

T h I s t l e was horrendous but it still pops into my head now and again, now I've typed this it'll probably linger till about Tuesday

Bang on here. HV arrogance knows no limits. The hoover up anyone with ability then claim to be some sort of footballing messiahs.

Think the show is spot on, highlighting the good and not so good areas of our game in an unbiased and intelligent way, unlike certain other broadcasters. Very enjoyable watch yet again this week. However, I don't get why it's not shown on a Saturday morning instead, it's better than Football Focus or that dead horse Soccer AM. Hope it's given all the support it can get

It might just be me but almost all the negative comments I've seen about the show on here and Twitter etc. have been from Old Firm fans.  If it's not about them (or their counterpart) they aren't interested.
And that's what makes it a brilliant show.

Definitely.  There seems to be some OF fans who think a show talking about lower league football is beneath them.  I also saw one Celtic fan on Twitter getting really angry about the Boyata Index.

Absolutely these. And I hope the Terrace lads take Off the Ball as a warning from history, keep it fresh and dont sell out to appease the cheeks.

A feature called "Why are they shite?" might struggle on a Saturday morning.

Time slots are less important when people can pick and choose what programs they want to watch and when. As mentioned ‘why are they shite’ etc means it’s post-watershed and given its pre-recorded its going to struggle to work on a Saturday when things could have changed significantly. Friday night works.

IMO ideally it would be on slightly earlier, ideal BBC Scotland Friday night would get ‘the nine’ to f**k, have the Friday night game played at a normal 7.45 K.O(or even 8pm), allow some time for post-match analysis and bring the terrace on immediately after at 10.

I found the first couple of episodes really clunky and quite awkward to watch, but now they've all settled in it's possibly my favourite thing on the telly. I didn't see it being an hour's worth of content based on the first two weeks but it flies in now. The studio chat is excellent, they all work really well together. They all play their part but Shaughan is the star of the show for me, I could listen to him read the phonebook. Some of the video features have been the best things produced about Scottish football in years.

Really chuffed for them all having listened to the podcast for years, they all seem like top boys.

I'm not really sure what the best time slot for it is tbh. I'd imagine, like me, most Terrace fans are out #shagging* on Friday nights and have to catch up on the IPlayer.

*sleeping in front of the telly.

Yeah I kinda get this, but the Nine is the flagship programme, a better format would be:

Wonderball or Whatever programme  - 7pm
Sportscene - 7:35pm Kick-off - would need Sky/BT to renege on doing Friday night games
The Nine - 9:30pm - Only half an hour on Friday, that's what C4 News do.
Terrace - 10pm
Breaking the News 11pm
