Excellent team performance today in what was ultimately a tough game in tough conditions. Cowdenbeath fans will probably be disappointed they didn’t take something from the match as they probably had most of the ball in the Second Half and Ferrie had to pull off a tremendous save before The Belly.....sorry, Jordyn Sheerin missed an absolute sitter, but the lads can take a lot of pride in today’s performance.

Darren Smith was running riot, before the red card, the link up play between him and Peaso was amongst the best I have seen at this level and the only answer that the Cowdenbeath Defence had for them was to genuinely foul Peaso and rely on the Linesman to continue to flag for Smith being offside, although at least twice he got the call wrong. The Red Card was farcical in my opinion though, he slide in late for the ball but a Red, na i’m not having that, it was soft as shit but Roncorn could not wait to get that card out. It will be interesting to see what BinosTV shows but from where I was sitting, it didn’t even look like a yellow.

Over the past couple of weeks, KR has spoken about our need to be street wise and I think we were a little bit more like that today. Cowden continues with the long ball up to Renton but McGeachie and Marr were more than a match for him. The goal came from a cross ball, which was not stopped by Allan and not dealt with by Ferrie but on there performances over the 90 minutes, I fealt it was harsh on them and Allan didn’t deserve the stick that 1 supporter decided to direct towards him.

Cowdenbeath were well on top of the match until Mackin came on, nothing seemed to stick up top between him coming off the bench and Smith being sent off, but the big lad just seemed to calm everything down and it came as no shock when we broke away and his knock down was knocked home by Peaso. I say it all the same but keeping him at the club will be imperative to any chance we have of winning the league next season.

It wasn’t a great game, but I did think we showed the right attributes to bag the points and I doubt we, as supporters, can ask any more out of the players than we got today. There was a real sense of unity that i’ve honestly not seen at the club for a number of years.

It was great to see Hamilton back in amongst it, that topped off a good day. Well done today lads, you deserve. Few drinks after that.

Both Kevin and Peaso said in their after match interviews with the press guys that they had no complaints about the sending off.

That was an utter shambles. The only plan we have these days is hoofball to Renton and he can never hold on to the ball.

We are right back where we were last season

I was more concerned about our defending bad goals to lose.

You’d think we were down to 10 men the way we were defending towards the end, sheerin needs loaned out he’s always been a big lad which plays to his strengths but his size now is worse he came on and had a wonderful opportunity and put it wide of the post from 7 yards out, how buchanan still gets a game is beyond me what does he actually contribute to the team?

Buchanan did more than Harvey as he did on Tuesday. We need a left back, Harvey is  a good player but not at LB.

‘ the best link up play I have seen at this level’

’Stirling winning the league next season’

’ the red card wasn’t even a yellow’

Got to love the enthusiasm of lower league supporters!

At the start of the season looking at other sides squads I would have put us 6th or 7th.

Me too, but it's disappointing that we don't have a real go and attack teams when there is no real pressure on us now. We are good enough to play much better. We just hoof it and lose it and don't change it. I am sick of watching us hoof the ball to Renton and he loses it over and over and over and over...

Harvey should be left mid. Never a left back.

I think I spotted a typo, did you not mean to say Daz was always running offside rather than running riot?  He did more to break up our attacks in the first half than the Cowdenu defence between them.

After three bad results it was good to get the points today even if it wasn't easy on the eye. Second half we held our shape and had taken lessons on game management from the matches against  Peterhead and Clyde although we're not at their level yet.

No we are 7th not 10th - that is progress

Agree with this. Hopefully we can make further progress next season. It’s been a tough few years after the best few years watching my team. Looking forward to next season now with hope.

Just shows you how things look from different angles, at the match it looked incredibly soft, but on our YouTube highlights it looked totally justified, so fair play, I got it wrong.

A tough game especially with 10 men for 45 minutes.  Felt the sending off was slightly harsh as Daz had his foot low in the tackle but it was raised afterwords with momentum and not really causing damage or in an aggressive manner.

Kev has the team organised and trying to tweak the squad which is good to see.  We are a young team and try to play football when we can, but can battle too.

Play off place is possible, but we would need to win 3 out of the next 4 to have a chance.  You never know!

And the ref usually has the best view, being closer and all.

apt;we looked pretty amateur for most of that game

Our keeper gets the ball, throws it to Mullen he runs up the park and puts some sort of cross in.  We’ve got a big striker who is good in the air but never gets his head on the ball when it matters. We don’t have anyone who can do the same on the left and haven’t looked the same since Talbot was injured.

Wouldn’t mind seeing McGurn starting again too.

Aberdeen Cowden, you have a few decent players who were knocking the ball about at the back and at times in midfield.  Plus your goal scorer has ability.   Confidence and a good striker help in league 2.  Peterhead, Clyde and Edinburgh all have quality strikers.  This seems to be the difference.

He's got the Stirling support fooled then - very rare that there is genuine foul against him. He's the sort of player that you love to have in your team but hate playing against you. Hits the deck at every opportunity and wins so many free kicks and penalties. An asset at any level.

Buchanan has been playing pretty well recently. Faded towards the end of the game yesterday but was decent enough - wasn't the worst player on the park.

I cannot understand why we are not starting with the likes of Henvey and Allan and swarming all over the Stirling defence.

GB's tactics are amateur at best. We have good players and they are not playing to their strengths.

Eh, we did start with Henvey...

I agree with your point about Bollan's tactics though. He chops and changes the team far too much and doesn't have a plan B (not that plan A is up to much). The players are only in training twice a week which isn't enough time to work on a new system and formation every other week. It's different if the team are full time and can work on that 4 days a week but 4 hours a week isn't enough. He needs to work out his best 11 and stick with it. Renton will win balls in the air but that's not his strength - he is better with the ball at his feet. Cox/Allan/Henvey aren't going to win much in the air so why do we continue to punt the ball forward? Renton is undervalued by Cowden fans. Yes, he should score more goals but he contributes far more than he is given credit for. Won the penalty against Rangers, won the penalty against Edinburgh City, set up Cox yesterday. He's a handful for defenders.

How is he expected to hang onto a ball that is fired above his head. The only thing he can do is flick it on. Kris Renton is not the problem.

I thought at the time that the sending off was soft and the highlights don't clear it up either way - bit too far away. Buchanan was straight back up afterwards and didn't milk it.

Was impressed with Rutkiewicz yesterday. In constant communication with his players and organising throughout the game.
