Be happy with winning your conference but dont risk holding back pyramid progression. Shame eos did not stipulate this. Apologies if no likely team can end up being champion. So you're asking a club to give up on a Championship and entry into next season's Scottish Cup for something that would likely be filled by application anyway? The only reason there won't be a club from Tier 6 joining the Lowland League next year is if the HL champion is promoted seeing SPFL42 relegated to the Lowland League and the Lowland League voting for Whitehill Welfare and LL14 back in.

What teams are still possible champions but have not applied for a license ?
Burnie_man
No I overlooked the extra carrot. What teams are still possible champions but have not applied for a license ?I think all of them have one or have applied. We'll find out for sure on, or soon after, the 18th.

A), Broxburn (1st in Conf. C), Hill of Beath (2nd in Conf. A) and Linlithgow (2nd in Conf. C). Linlithgow already have their license, everyone else is at some stage of the application process. Only Bonnyrigg are without floodlights but are working on it. Hopefully it won't be an issue.
FairWeatherFan
@Burnie_man You know the licensing process better than I do. Does this sound like Broxburn are just waiting to be accepted in a couple of weeks? The fact they are still crowdfunding, or were during March, made me wonder. https://www.broxburnathletic.co.uk/licence-application/
Burnie_man
Yes, if the Licence committee have decided they meet all requirements (they already have lights) and forwarded to SFA board then in reality it's a rubber stamping exercise, like Blackburn.

Dalbeattie will almost certainly finish 15th. Both WW and Dalbeattie will have to apply for the 16th spot. If Dalbeattie wins reelection. WW will fill a place in the EOS Premier, without two going up.... 16th and 15th should read bottom and second bottom. Don't think it's automatic that DS get relegated in the Cove promoted scenario. It depends on WW having been relegated and replaced by another club from either the EoS or SoS to create the need for the extra vacancy. That means if there is no licensed champion available only WW are relegated under the Cove scenario. If they get voted back in, you only need one sixth placed team for next season's EoS premier. If they get voted out and replaced by a non-EoS Premier applicant (licensed SoS clubs, Girvan and Glasgow Uni can also apply), you don't need any sixth placed teams. If bottom and second bottom got relegated to the EoS premier and the SoS champion got promoted in the Cove scenario you would potentially only have needed 2 of 3 fifth placed teams, but that scenario is no longer feasible as far as I'm aware anyway.
lowenan
Normally the bottom two in the Lowland League would get relegated if the Highland League team gets promoted. I was under the impression that it would be the same this season, and that there would still be a place to apply for. However, I would expect Dalbeattie to win through. Really doubt that Girvan or Glasgow Uni would get elected ahead of Linlithgow Rose or Whitehill Welfare. No Cove promotion, LL champion replaces WW and then Selkirk vacancy is filled by an EoS premier team means only two sixth places are needed, as does a reprieve for WW to fill the selkirk vacancy. Only way it could have happened would have been if the relegated team (or teams in the Cove scenario) had been from the SoS catchment creating scope for a net shift of two teams from the EoS to the LL, if there was no reprieve.
FairWeatherFan
Nearly there after some midweek action. Dunbar United have 5th in Conference A assured as Coldstream can no longer catch them. Basically looking at the battle for 5th in Conference B & C and how many 6th placed spots may be needed. Burnie_man
Looks like 5th and 6th place in Conference B is going to go right to the wire, 27th might be the pivotal day. We also now know for certain that EoS Champion is promoted (Licence permitting) as SoS Champions are Stranraer Reserves.
FairWeatherFan
Tranent Juniors are now guaranteed at worse the best 6th place spot in the EoS and can only be nudged that low if Dalkeith win out with a superior goal difference. Conference A is decided in what representatives they will send to next year's EoS Premier and for best 6th place. Defeats for St Andews and Coldstream see them in Tier 7 for 2019-20. FairWeatherFan
The only unknown is best 6th placed finish which is going to be between Sauchie Juniors and Dalkeith Thistle. While Sauchie can catch Crossgates points wise, the goal difference is insurmountable with one game to go. Hopefully we find out soon the the Conference Champions have received licenses so that promotion is assured regardless of the overall EoS Champion. lowenan
There might be no former EOS side in next year’s Premier, even if Leith, LTHV and Preston have all been about as close as you can get. Leith as the second best 6th place, Preston as the third best 6th place, and LTHV likely to be the 7th placed team with most points, and could be the team with most points that didn’t make it to the EOS Premier. Of course Leith could still make it with their second best 6th place. If Sauchie qualifies (highly likely), every current EOS team that were qualified for the SJFA East Superleague in 18/19 had they not left the juniors, have now avoided tier 7. Tranent, Dunbar, Blackburn and Crossgates are the four that have gone beyond what they had, to make up the new EOS Premier, replacing Lochee, Broughty, Carnoustie and Fauldhouse (Kennoway and Forfar had gotten relegated).

lowenan
The EOS has lost many teams to the Lowland League over time., which fully explains that. However, the best of the original EOS teams are likely to dominate tier 7 next season.

Hopefully the playoffs and applications work out in Leith Athletic's favour. As for dominate Tier 7 i'm not so sure that's how I would phrase it. There are certainly clubs that based on this year have shown they will be competitive for promotion. Which is something we can start thinking about. What's Tier 7 going to look like and what's promotion and relegation from EoS Premier and Tier 7 going to look like.
Truthteller
So what will be the league structure next season for the clubs in the EOS who did not make it in to the top league ?
