Jam Tarts v The Buddies

Another tough game for Saints so hope we can build on last week. If the ref had not called for offside which was clearly not it would have been 1-3 in the Aberdeen game. We are a completely diffrent squad now with far better players. Good enough for a result well I did say it would be tough.

Edinburgh Evening News panel view on the match one reads - Those who remember 1986. It's a wee bit like England 1966 it still creeps in. All Hearts needed was a draw against Dundee. But no it's all St Mirren's fault. I remember that season well St Mirren beat Hearts 6 - 2. .

Coming away from this with a point would be a good day's work.

This is now very much make or break time. Last season at Aberdeen was the first real signs of recovery. A disciplined performance on the road at a ground where we've been pummelled twice this season. Hearts have also given us a spanking on their patch so it will be another gauge of how far we've progressed, if at all.

In addition to today, we have a run from now to the split with 3 games that are probably must wins in Livi (H) , Dundee (H) and Hamilton (A) as well Celtic at home where we can't expect anything.

The other two games are Killie at Home and St. Johnstone away. If we can pick an odd point up in either of those matches it would be a massive plus.

If we can get to the split and be back within touching distance it would be great.

Big game for us, really is a must win if we harbour hopes of a top 3 finish. Would like to see us get rid of the abominable three at the back and stop making Berra look like a huddy.  No idea who will be left back if we do though, Burns maybe?

Think it has to be a back four today, and it probably has to be Jake at left back, although Burns is not a bad shout.

Doyle

Godinho - Souttar - Berra - Mulraney

Clare - Djoum - Cochrane - Naismith

Ikpeazu - Keena

Subs: Zlamal, Dikamona, Haring, Lee, Morrison, MacLean, Burns

Need a win here.

Is the only game we've lost this season when Naisy and Pedro have played the match at Ibrox? Guess you can count the League Cup semi-final at Murrayfield as well, although Naisy obviously went off early doors.

Couple of glorious chances for us. Hearts have had most of the territory but never really threatened our goal aside from a slew of 4 chances in 10 seconds when Hladky became a hero by saving all 4.

Kyle McAllister really should have taken the chance (or squared it to Nazon) when one on one with the keeper.

Hearts' passing is very sloppy in the middle of the park and we're making a habit of pouncing on it. A bit more direct drive and we could have done some damage.

All in all, we're improving steadily week on week.
