Cyclizine
He's entitled to appeal. It's unlikely to go anywhere though. What's the problem?
ICTJohnboy
He was probably told he would get a lesser sentence if he confessed to his crime - which he subsequently did just prior to being sentenced.

Bairnardo
Members of the public diving in two footed with their outrage boils my piss in these scenarios. The legal system is meant to be blind. If someone is legally entitled to an appeal then thats all their is to it. Doesnt matter how heinous the crime you cant rewrite the rule book. His appeal will come to nothing no doubt, but EVERYONE has certain rights. You might not like it, but you wouldnt like it if you were denied legal due process because of public perception. And yes, he is a horrible, horrible little c**t of a human who deserves all of the suffering a person can suffer.
The OP
The actual headline is accurate but it would help if the BBC didn't have clickbaity statements like 'granted appeal' when he has only been granted leave to appeal.

Lofarl
Yeah but is he not essentially locked up for life? I doubt after 24 years society will look favourably upon child rapists/murderers. I’d be amazed if he’s every set free.
