Largs ( by virtue of home advantage)
Lochee ( although might need a replay)
Bankies ( my team although Hurlford will be strong favourites)
Auchinleck ( simply the better team not to mention junior cup specialists)

Hoping the home advantage will be evened out with a large Buffs support who r travelling up 2 the game and we seem 2 do well on the plastic pitches.

Although this all  started back in the Autumn as a diet version of the once great competition, that Quarter final line up would have been considered good at any point in the recent past and each of those matches could go either way. Would have liked to have seen maybe another East side in there with Lochee.

Not going to make any predictions but I hope that the realisation that we could know the last 4 at this time tomorrow while some of us still have Christmas decorations up will jolt the tournament into life,  The idea of being a few wins away from the Senior Scottish Cup is still a terrific incentive to life the trophy even if the notion of being the best team in Scotland will ring a bit hollow.

Largs/Buffs draw with Buffs winning the replay.

Troon/Lochee is a tough one as it’s tough to gauge how good Lochee are, Troon are poor though so I’ll go for Lochee to progress.

Pollok/Talbot. Away win

Hurlford/Clydebank. Can’t see by Hurlford for this one.

as Shanner says, a strong QF lineup with the usual suspects but this competition just isn’t the same anymore without the likes of Bo’ness, Linlithgow etc. It’s basically become a competition to see who gets the honour of losing to Talbot at Rugby Park in May.

You may call me crazy ! However Iha a feeling Talbot will not win it this year, let’s wait and see.

Would be great to see a different name on the trophy this season but I just can’t see it. With the money they’ve made from recent cup runs, I can see Talbot going on to basically dominate everything for the next few years.

last time they played Hearts they ended up losing the final to Shotts in probably the biggest upset in most of our lifetimes.

What...like every other year you mean ?...or, every two out of three years for the past how many ?

The "loss" of the big East teams is neither here nor there...they decided not to take part in the competition. The competition itself isn't devalued by teams deciding not to take part as it is still the national cup competition. You can only play the blokes in front of you.

Of course it’s devaluted. The east region teams have been a massive loss to the competition.

Of course it's been devalued we've lost most of the best of the second best region in our country.

Would the world Cup be as strong without say 4 of the best South American teams being in it or without 4 of the better European nations being in it?

I would say the same if my team were in the quarter final today. :unsure2:

Buffs

Troon

Hurlford

Talbot

All Ayrshire semis and Final and hope the Final is at Somerset

Don’t be a spoilsport the final should be played at Bathgate the best playing grass surface in what remains of the ERSJFA. It would be a swan song for Junior football and a reminder to the East Region that jumped over the fence of what they are missing.
