Dennys - any good?

As there's no football today, I was going to take the wife to Dennys in Glasgow but the reviews on Tripadvisor are a bit, er, negative. Anyone been?

What do you mean, no football? Of course there is, you're just not trying hard enough.

I don't understand the fascination with these appalling places that have been opening up recently.  Taco Bell, Tim Hortons etc.  They're all fucking awful.
I've been in a Denny's in Florida and I doubt that it's suddenly improved since it's opened here.

A Tim Hortons recently opened up near me but I quite like it and wouldn’t say it’s awful. Admittedly I’ve only had coffees and a doughnut once so far but no complaints. I much prefer their coffee to Costa or Starbucks and it costs less too.

Is that the one on Braille Crescent?

I'm surprised people can find it.

Tim Hortons is OK. Canadians are the nicest people on the planet.

With these TA reviews I would have thought it was a no brainer.

Even Wetherspoons gets better reviews than that - go there and you'll probably save yourself a fortune.

Also you can play Wetherspoons roulette.   Dennys roulette would be nowhere near so much fun.

The Denny’s at braehead is utterly tragic, i went, half the place empty and asked for a table, was told it was a 50 minute wait despite loads of free tables. Waitress looked offended that I wasn’t prepared to wait. Glad i didnt. I looked on trip advisor for other breakfast places nearby and found a place called ‘Rawlings love to eat’ went there instead and had one of the best breakfasts out i’ve ever had, just a small independent place, not a soulless chain.

Denny's is going to be utterly tragic anywhere in the world.  There is only one left here in Ottawa and I presume that it's a front for the mob or something as there is no way a restaurant that terrible should still be in business.

Glasgow is a bit city, I am sure there are tons of way better places for breakfast than Denny's
