Detournement
It's funny how they never take British citizenship off white paedos who go abroad to abuse kids and we have to take back any bangers the USA or Australia send us.
NotThePars
They have no problem shipping off innocent LGBT people to their deaths so this isn’t a surprise. Reckon there’s a collective delusion over how awful the Home Office is so we don’t end up feeling horrified at what they perpetrate in our name.
John Lambies Doos
I thought it was illegal to leave someone stateless, does she have dual citizenship?
Granny Danger
When this is successfully challenged in court will Javid resign? Or at least reimburse the costs?

She qualifies automatically for Bangladeshi citizenship through her parents. This means you can't come back...ever! yours Home Secretary Or would we have insisted he came back to face Justice? ICTChris
Apparently this has been done for up to 100 British citizens who travelled to fight for and/or live in the Islamic State.

welshbairn
This will probably go through the courts. I doubt very much if Bangladesh is better able to prevent her becoming a risk than the UK, even if they offer her citizenship. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-30545824
D Angelo Barksdale
Her lawyer has denied she also has Bangladeshi citizenship. The govt doesn't seem to have a good record on Brits with Bangladeshi heritage. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/british-citizenship-removal-isis-terrorists-extremists-stateless-illegal-blocked-court-bangladesh-a8645241.html

Granny Danger
I assume to gain Bangladeshi citizenship she would need to apply for it, if she doesn’t and she’s stripped of her British citizenship that would be unlawful.

ICTJohnboy
This is obviously going to be a popular call from Javid - and for the Gov/t it creates a welcome distraction from Brexit.

She may have it by default. Eg. As you are aware I have dual citizenship.. British and Irish. I was born with this right and only thing I had to apply for were passports, not citizenship.
