They have no problem shipping off innocent LGBT people to their deaths so this isn’t a surprise. Reckon there’s a collective delusion over how awful the Home Office is so we don’t end up feeling horrified at what they perpetrate in our name.

Just now, John Lambies Doos said:

I thought it was illegal to leave someone stateless, does she have dual citizenship?

She qualifies automatically for Bangladeshi citizenship through her parents.

This process has been used before to strip Abu Hamza's son of citizenship when he was in Syria (he was born in Britain but Hamza is Egyptian)

Tested and found legal by the UNCHR https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/mar/09/terror-suspects-british-citizenship-european-ruling

11 minutes ago, Sergeant Wilson said:

Dear Jihadi John,

It has come to our attention you've been beheading folk in Syria. This means you can't come back...ever!

Home Secretary

Or would we have insisted he came back to face Justice?

I'll plump (reluctantly) for the latter.  Due process etc.

Her lawyer has denied she also has Bangladeshi citizenship.

The govt doesn't seem to have a good record on Brits with Bangladeshi heritage.

I assume to gain Bangladeshi citizenship she would need to apply for it, if she doesn’t and she’s stripped of her British citizenship that would be unlawful.

She may have it by default. Eg. As you are aware I have dual citizenship.. British and Irish. I was born with this right and only thing I had to apply for were passports, not citizenship.
