Unfortunately the word I hear is that they've been relegated to the United Counties League Division 1 and face 680 mile round trips. The SFA consider them the problem child and have disowned them. emoji53.png

At least they still get to play St. Andrews in that division (albeit their English namesakes).

Yes, and what's better is it's right next door to 2015-16 Champions' training ground. So it's not all bad...

Very glad you posted this because I had assumed everyone was talking about dogging.

This tweet could suggest that not just Bonnyrigg will get a license soon. They don't have to wait for them as they are already in the Scottish Cup after all. I can only assume Dundonald are also expected to get one?

Can only think it's Dundonald. Don't think Jeanfield have their lights up yet.

Preliminary rounds of the William Hills Scottish Cup is going to be interesting this year with all the new Licensed teams appearing for the first time.

IIRC One of the justifications for the ‘Bonnyrigg’ farce(not the only team affected but they have got the most coverage ) was potential Scottish cup implications of giving too many team a license, it wouldn’t be a surprise for Scottish cup reform to happen at the AGM.

They already have two Preliminary rounds which has plenty of capacity.

With live TV coming in at Round 1 from next season, and with the likes of Talbot having to start in the first Prelim round, they may even go the opposite and put everyone into R1 after a bit of tweeking to give broadcasters a wider range of games to show.

Yes, it will be interesting to see new (and competitive) teams in the cup, despite the best efforts of the SFA  to prevent improvement.

I don’t think the introduction of a secondary prelim was particularly popular. Especially with byes no longer guaranteed for licence holders. I agree that removing some of the later round byes and having more clubs in earlier rounds is a strong possibility

Last season the schedule for the Scottish Cup was announced on 1st May. Might be giving the SFA too much credit here but I'd assume the delay this year is because they are going to change the format at the AGM?

Also down to one or two clubs only being confirmed as Licence holders this week, and members at next weeks AGM.

Given the SFA are trying to downgrade new members to Associate members, I wouldnt rule out further changes.

The dates have already been released as they're factored into the Highland League fixtures, the 1st round is on 21st September.
