Club Licencing

Normally yes but Selkirk must be replaced.
But that's done through application, so the bottom club aren't relegated if there is no champion promoted and the 16th club is found via application. Otherwise they would need to find two clubs through application surely?

I assume the Lowland league can’t go against their overlords if the SFA refuse a license based on floodlights yet the club applied last year before the rules were changed? As discussed previously you’d hope the SFA were sensible but it makes you wonder. Well me, still in my half-asleep state...

Yeah there isn’t relegation if no licensed champion. In that instance, applications would be taken to fill Selkirk’s void among licensed clubs.

I cite the Threave example where there was no licensed champion and they accepted their relegation without choosing to re-apply for the vacancy it caused.

Neither paragraph provides a qualifer of "if there's a licensed EoS/SoS champion"

I think Threave resigned, otherwise they would have stayed in LL.

To add to this in relation to floodlights Blackburn, Broxburn, Dalkeith, Newtongrange & Tynecastle have lights already.

Yeah soz,  I had read your post as promotion and relation but you’d actually only said relegation. I edited but not quick enough - my bad.

Daily Record! I'm sure they resigned in the end as they weren't in a healthy way off the pitch as well as on it. Either that or they turned down the opportunity to remain.

And they did turn down the opportunity to remain as they never re-applied once relegated.

Not all of those clubs have applications in front of the SFA this time round, I think there's around a dozen or so. Next board meeting is June which a few others will be considered, last chance to get into Scottish Cup next season.

For starters that's Wikipedia, but the reference is to a Daily Record article as well [emoji38]

and both were written by Stuart Gillespie and your article has

Fair do's, but I still think they actually resigned in the end once their SoS application was accepted.

Either way, there wont be relegation this season if no licenced Champion.

In the public minutes it is never explicitly stated what the SFA directive is

...and if you read the SFA's constitution it's not at all clear how the SFA Board has the power to issue a directive on an issue like this that is binding on the parties concerned.

There's at least one name missing. [emoji6]
