We’ve been flying a bit under the radar but lots of work  been going on at Kings Park to upgrade our facilities.

But all going well we will be approved to be a licenced club at the SFA board meeting at the end of June.

SFA have co-operated with the club over the deadline for getting works done. Really good to see.

GROUND IMPROVEMENTS: SFA CLUB LICENSING
Brief update: Work is well underway on our extension to the pavilion. This is to create toilets in both the home & away dressing rooms - the last bit of major work required to make the ground compliant with SFA Licensing criteria and suitable for women's football.

The club has been given a deadline date of 22nd June 2021 to provide evidence of full compliance with the Entry Level criteria, and we're confident everything will be in place by then.

It has been a busy lockdown period off the park - the committee has worked extremely hard to get the club into such a good position, in difficult circumstances.

All being well, we hope to host some Scottish Cup action next season when things get back up and running again.

We are very grateful to Midlothian Council for their investment in the property - These improvements would not have been possible without the help and support of our local Councillors Stephen Curran, Colin Cassidy and Margot Russell.

Suppose that’s difference between a council owned facility and a private property.

It is a good point which Jaggywaggy makes 👍However, it would have been good for the Council or other local initiative companies to offer some find of financial assistance (eg common goods fund) to help WW and help the village as a whole.

On this, does anyone know which EoS grounds are currently owned by their clubs as opposed to local authorities?

It also helps to have a massive community footprint with  over 500 kids and 70 volunteers knocking their pan in every week under the Thistle badge.

Longterm plan is for Kings Park to be turned into a 7 days a week community facility similar to Broxburn and Blackburn.

There’s more than just council owned and club owned....

Some clubs have private/community landlords.

I think there’s maybe several clubs in that scenario.

Brilliant news!

Good morning Seasiders

I have been advised by the Scottish FA that, at their meeting on Wednesday 14 April, the Scottish FA Board approved the club’s membership application.

The membership (and Entry level licence award) will be effective from the Scottish FA AGM, scheduled for 20 July 2021.

It’s the final confirmation for us that everyone's hard work here has been recognised.  Huge thanks to you all our supporters for their role in enabling the club to make this happen.

Our main focus, behind the scenes, is now on getting our squad ready for our senior Scottish Cup debut and an improved performance in the East of Scotland Premier League.

Many thanks

Only Dunbar from the EOS as far as I know.

Clydebank, Cumnock, Auchinleck, Darvel, and Irvine Meadow from the WOS expected to be confirmed.

Not so sure about Talbot or Medda. The other three definitely will be confirmed.
