Club Licencing

i cannot see them at this stage kicking WW ,VALE and Strollers out ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Why?

What have these teams done to keep their facilities in line with  the current SFA requirements?  It seems some teams are happily hiding in the LL with little or no intention of making the changes being asked of others who want to progress.

Think Tynecastle, Newtongrange, Easthouses and Dalkeith should also get in?

remove us from that list - we had more work to carry out which precluded us from passing an application at this time.

So just to confirm which of the twelve teams will have received licences and who will have been declined?

I’m sure it was 12 clubs who had applied in time for the Feb SFA board meeting, 6 with and 6 without lights;

Lights: Blackburn, Broxburn, Easthouses, Penicuik, Hill of Beath and Tynecastle

Without: Bonnyrigg, Camelon, Dundonald, Haddington, Tranent and St.Andrews

I think that is fairly accurate

Dunipace (with lights) and Jeanfield (without) intend to have applied before June board meeting, not sure if anyone else.

The Lowland League could do something about this debacle and give Bonnyrigg their rightful place in the LL.

3 current members don't even have floodlights??

Given they tried to change the rules to save WW, I very much doubt they would (or can)

What exactly can the Lowland League do? This is the SFA's shit show.

All we are really talking about is a couple of months - if that - access to a licenced ground for midweeks. I’m sure easthouses could oblige for the handful of games required?

Not to advise Bonnyrigg until after they had won promotion us honking. I hope the silence from Bonnyrigg is because all parties are moving towards a solution.

If ever a situation summed up the absolute shite standard of management and governance in the game in this country this is it.

And absolute fucking shambles. Disgraceful.

Surely the same criteria should apply to new and existing clubs . Or is that to sensible? All Highland League clubs have floodlights.

But are we really surprised by this shambles?

A shocking decision given clubs applied in good faith based on the criteria at the time.  Unfair on all the clubs concerned but particularly for Bonnyrigg having just won the League only to have promotion denied them by a discreditable organisation  that is the SFA

Sell your park for houses and hire a park like some of the pretend football teams within the LL.

Quite clear teams with ambitions on and off the park like Bonnyrigg don't hold as much value to the SFA

You could also use Penicuik Park. The sad part is that Whitehill played a grand total of two midweek games at home, one on 31st July and the other in April at Pennypit Park (same with Vale who played once at Pennypit in April). So for three clubs who seem to have no intention of adding floodlights the SFA thinks it's ok for them to keep their licence but not for any new applicants...

Don't think the LL can do much as the rules require clubs to be a licensed SFA member on June 30th, it's too late to be changing them.

A lot of rage for ww and the other 2 LL teams on here. Its hardly their fault.

WW will still go doon if Cove win play offs surely  ?

As Jerry pointed oot what has it got to do wi the LL  ?

The SFA have been total fcukwits here.

Bonnyrigg should be in the LL but it's no the 3 teams without floodlights fault  ?

It's their league not the SFA's,they can waver their rules this season due to the SFA's incompetence.

Next season everyone knows the rules so fair enough.

Don’t think anyone is raging at LL or the clubs - just the SFA.

Really feel for the management, players and fans of Bonnyrigg.  They gave us a real kick in the gonads on Saturday but at least that was fair and square.  They have just received that and much more today for an unjustified reason

Who knows what sort of lobbying was going on behind the scenes?

If cove win the play offs then berwick would take the place of Selkirk.  There would be no vacancy...

Not obvious how that would happen through the rule, because they always have to be accommodated even in seasons when there isn't a vacancy. It's WW that get the vacancy under that scenario but that's basically just pedantry, because the outcome doesn't change. Technically the LL board could accept an EoS application rather than WW, but don't hold your breath, basically.

Is the rule, in the LL constitution not that clubs must be in possession of an SFA licence at 30 June following the conclusion of the season, not prior to the commencement?

Absolute disgrace the coverage over the round Robin tourney was fantastic and they've now made a right arse of it. Shambles.
