What a goal that would've been, btw.

Not longer after Rangers had went all Mike Bassett with two up front and left an absolutely fucking massive hole in the middle of the park, credit to TW for having the bollocks to put Alston on to exploit.

Credit where it's due, it was a great substitution at just the right time. Goss had tired a bit, and TW recognised with them pushing an extra player up front that we would have space to exploit in midfield.

It was a great move to create the chance, as was the one for Kane's chance in the first half.

Thought Alston looked really lively when he came on, would expect he is slightly disappointed he didn't score with his finishing ability, as it was probably a far easier chance than the two belters he scored against them for us. Great run to get on it; typical Alston, his running beyond the striker is one of his best attributes.

You wonder if theres a logic behind playing Goss in games we're expected to be on the back foot in, and Alston in games we hope to dominate.

Those runs could cause havoc against poorer sides.

Would certainly make sense, though its possible the manager has come round a bit to the idea of continuity of selection to build a bit of form, with the same 10 outfield players starting yesterday as in the humping at Celtic the week before.

Barring injuries, I expect next week we'll start the same again.

As you say, be interesting to see if we make changes when we play against some of the bottom six clubs in a few weeks time.

This may sound like it’s a criticism and it’s not, but if Alston follows the ball in after he’s hit it, he scores the rebound. Not that I think any player would do that tbh.

Do you think?

Can easily picture him getting a head to it and it being ruled out as he goes through the keeper.

I'm loathe to criticise him not following it in, considering he looks like hes about to goad absolute f**k off the fans behind the goal aswell, too.

Imagine the furore we would be having right now if that was at the other end.

To me that looks potentially in.?.?

It bounces about two yards away from the line, hard to tell until you see the angle from behind...

Have we done something to annoy Gerrard? Takes pops at us all the time...

Everything he does and says is stage managed as part of his effort at getting a big job, including absolving himself of responsibility at all times. A master of deflection.

Pitches, referees, fans, SFA.... Theres always someone else to blame.
