Just thought to myself, what if all 5 teams can still be relegated on the final day? It will be absolute carnage. Imagine a 5-way match of the day highlights jumping between the games. Almost want it to happen now.

4 way - Queen of the South are playing Partick Thistle. :P

The following sequence of results would mean all five teams were level on points going into the last round of matches.

2 wins for the Caley? Add to cart.

In 2008 we went into the final game in 3rd bottom place, ahead of Clyde on goal difference by one, but with both of us having scored the same number of goals. This meant that on the final day (although both teams won 3-0), had we won 2-1 at Firhill and Clyde beat bottom club Stirling 2-0 at home, we'd have had identical records in every respect.

This would have lead to the absurd situation where Morton and Clyde would have had a play-off to see who avoided the play-off.

Wonder how they'd squeeze this scenario in if it occurs? At the moment Queens have a 0 goal difference and the rest of us have shite goal differences.

Dont worry about us .we are utter mince just like the rest of this league.

That is my worry with the budget proposals that might be our level.  Shocking to see RR languish where they are.

I've heard of Clyde. What happened to them after that?

No playing Ross Co in final game which will now be played on BBC Scotland on Friday night.

Does not seem fair!

Unfair in that County will get the league trophy and will want to win in style or simply win with cameras and fans, trophy probably not in front of the cameras as they are obsessed with the nine being on schedule at nine, Qos fans will be at a very minimum.

Remind me who it is unfair on ?

This is one for supporters of all five of the clubs in danger of being relegated:

If offered 9th place (meaning a berth in the play-offs) right now, would you take it?

I'm guessing that the fact that 60% of the strugglers will do better than this, while only 20% will do worse, means most would say no.

Form might come into it though, and it's obviously likely to shift a bit as the games run out.

Ermm  yes ! would have taken it from the start of the season to be honest .

Head-to-head was introduced as a tiebreaker when the SPFL merger took place in 2013.

Defoe going there on loan put paid to that.

Yes, very good.

Had that been the idea, he'd have given up three years ago when such a move might have made sense for both parties and didn't happen.

You seem inordinately hung up on the fact that Dobbie once said he'd grown up as a Rangers fan.  If we subjected all our playing squads to such scrutiny, we'd probably find a depressingly OF tinge to their allegiances, unless of course we'd at some point signed a load of English no marks.

No other player gets the twee "ONLY CLUB HE'S EVER WANTED TO PLAY FOR, TRUE LOVE STORY FOR THE BADGE" that we get from Dobbie. The reality is that he is a bluenose who says he'd love to play there instead.
