drs
John Brough, age 22 - christ I'd have hated to have his paper round. They've also taken about 15 years of Ernie McGarr.
naegoodinthedark
That’s the first book I can remember owning, but sure I didn’t finish it. I really liked the half size stickers. Cheers for doing this!
Flybhoy
First one I recall getting was Football 84, in that period the Scottish sides got one page as opposed to two for the English sides and, even more patronizing was each player got half a sticker each, for some bizarre reason I specifically remember Roy Aitken and Mark Reid being on a half & half sticker.. Only one I ever completed was the Italia 90 World Cup one, albeit I had to fill in the card at the back to send away for the last 50, pretty sure it is still in my parents attic. Some utterly magnificent mullets and facial hair in that album, Jim Tolmie of Morton in particular being my favourite, as the previous poster alluded to, footballers then seemed to look a lot older than those nowadays, possibly caused by the standard diet then not consisting of pasta and energy drinks, more sausage suppers and pints of lager. Great to see so many names (and faces) I'd forgotten about.
LincolnHearts
Panini 78? were the first lot I collected. Some belting pictures in these in the days before players didn't give a f**k what they looked like. Trying to find the Ian Scanlon one from his St Mirren days where he looked like David Blunkett. Sergeant Wilson
Some fucking paper round Ernie had.

Maybe he had to lie about his age to get his hands on a young person's railcard. Player's wages were very different back in those days.
Guest Moomintroll
I thought yer man top right on the Airdrie page was called Im Rodger for a second. Footballers in 1981 were not braw specimens.

He was promptly replaced that year by John Martin. By that time Ernie was registered blind but continued to play for Berwick and then went junior. Eta. Quite few dead across the board, but I think Rangers have the most. They'll probably put a star on their jersey.
JamieThomas
Imagine if folk had hard drives in 1981.
Sherrif John Bunnell
Even the Nigerian FA would have thought twice about claiming Ernie McGarr was 25.

Monkey Tennis
I've got the '79 one upstairs somewhere. Similar format, but it's nowhere near complete. ETA: I've only just spotted it has its own thread - tremendous.
Lurkst
I gave up after Football 80. Was annoyed that the Scottish photos were shrunk to be the same size as English Div 2.
tamthebam
I did the '86 version. The foil stickers for club badges were cool but I had quite a few doubles of Benny Brazil... grrr! Its interesting to note that in the '79 and '81 versions Donald Park, unlike everyone else, doesn't have a porn star 'tasche which he later sported. Did he acquire it in his second spell at Hearts or at Brechin City?
