I make it 5 ex Annan players. Cuddihy, Currie, Love, McNiff, and Nicol. Who's the 6th or did you count them on your inbred hand?

Stewart was on loan at Annan, I imagine it's him.

TBF it was Chapman who liked Annan players, most of them turned out to be as sh1t as we thought they would, thankfully Danny has got shot of most of the crap and retained the decent ones, wee Cuddihy especially who has been outstanding this season.

To be fair Chapman and the players that joined Clyde that summer led us to a 3rd place finish and a playoff spot the season before. Most of the players that joined Clyde had contributed plenty to our season. What was so different at Clyde that caused such a drop in form? Was it that expectations were too high? I ask that question genuinely as before Chapman done the dirty on us with their contracts many of those players looked to be staying at Galabank.

Where does everyone rank chapman in the worst Clyde manager ever list?  I've got him third behind John brown and bankrupt Barry!

IMO the players whom JC didn't re-sign from the previous season, i.e. JP McGovern, Peaso, Linton, Easton, were replaced by the likes of Ramsey, Breslin, Wright, Home, etc., and the gulf showed the day we blew a 2-0 lead at Elgin when JP ran the game and the likes of Flynn couldn't match him allied to JC and his dopey assistant at odds whether to defend or attack. There were tales of a cap on players' salaries which led to the recruiting of Annan players.

Usually after a fracture of the arm you are told to play football in a splint after 4-6 weeks depending on severity. So yeah wee while yet for Goodie to return I think.

Well the style of football was nothing short of Wimbledon in the 80 's root one certainly didn't endear himself by describing fans as nasty which may u add the club published in the matchday programme a quite stunning piece of PR
Came across as a fairly obnoxious character particularly charmless
Apart from that he was ok

One massive issue was Wimbledon were good at it. We were mediocre at best

Expectations being too high is an absolute cop-out. As said in the post above, these Annan players finished significantly higher than Fergie's Flamethrowers the year before.

On the contrary, far from being expected to replicate their 3rd place finish, i think a large part of the reason they failed was that many of them considered themselves to have 'made it', particularly as if they had intimated they'd stay at Annan, then shot the crow to Clyde, it may have been seen as a once-in-a-lifetime chance to play for us. Unfortunately these character flaws soon shone through, and the thickest manager in Scotland cracked under the strain of it all.

To be fair, of all our ex-Annan, Lennon hasn"t punted "most of them" at all- by my count, six were not retained (Home, Breslin, Flynn, Ramsey , Smart and Wright), five are still here (Nicoll, McNiff, Stewart, Cuddihy and Currie) and Ally Love was recruited by Lennon himself.

BF took Clyde to a goal from promotion. Millar was a Neil Watt puppet. Forgotten about Hendry sacrifing a 3-5-2 which we'd played for two successful seasons under GR and JM to play a 4-4-2 and after repeatedly bleating on TV about his budget, left us in the lurch?

What a lot of shite....ish.

Ferguson was on par with Millar, Brown and Hendry for lack of man-management or in-game nous. Systems mean largely nothing, the multifunction of players to adapt is far more important. Something which Brown actually received reasonably well in 2008 by winning the playoffs.

Maybe instead of lamenting managers, we should hold their appointments accountable to the chairmen who hired them. Who's the worst, there?

We better calm the Clyde chat. The Annan well-wishers might get the same complex the Edinburgh ones do when we discuss matters relating to history or ambition.

The clubhouse at Galabank will be open early doors for anyone after a few beers and the early kick off on T.V.

The days of us filling the coffers in your club long gone JT ..

Reason one or two of you sweetie wifes complained that much to your club officials simply because 4 of us stood in the covered end during a monsoon & our only crime was to support our time without doubt not going over the top,The game was 0-0 and the majority didnt want us turfed out in the rain & we left quietly just like our vocal support during 1st half...

Station bar and direct to game every time were down if we decide to drink in Annan at all with plenty of other options nearby..

Certainly not our loss
