Anyone see the report that midfielder Rhys McCabe ex Rangers is on trial with us having returned from playing with St Patrick’s in Ireland.

This is one for ITK ,,  Spanish Armada,  For what it is worth he is Callum Fordyces cousin (Wikipedia) Good pedigree

Decent number of games at Championship level for Dunfermline in the 16/17 season before his stint in Ireland. Wonder if we are in for him r just letting Dycie's cousin keep fit.

An addition we could be doing with, for sure.

Familiar with the name but don't remember a lot about him or his performances or playing style. Certainly could do with another midfielder though.

He has been training with us ,looks like he is heading to Brechin  though ,

A shame about McCabe as he sounds like he'd have been a decent pick-up. Won't be so bad though if we actually start playing Roberts again...

Happy about Carrick signing on. He's a hard-worker and actually a decent footballer too. Having added goals to his game this season, he's been a real threat most games and a key player.

Also hope he's not in at the expense of Roberts but he's 21 and played league football before albeit in League 2 for Stenhousemuir. Hopefully he can add a bit of creativity and dynamism to a midfield that, minus Roberts, is sorely lacking it.

Young Arran Ross away on loan to Linlithgow Rose https://www.airdriefc.com/1920news/310120/Ross-makes-Rose-loan-switch Good level to gain some first team experience at. Hopefully he'll be breaking his way into the first team soon.

Confirmed

Loan signings can be a real hit or miss at this level, we've seen that even this season. He's talking himself up as an attacking midfielder so here's hoping he can play a bit (and we actually start to play through the midfield). Wouldn't be totally opposed to playing our usual system but McKay dropping out and both Roberts and Murray playing with Millar sitting TBH. Worth a shot anyway.

Would imagine the lad has been signed as a replacement to Roberts,  will be interesting to see if Roberts makes the bench this week....  Our central  midfield lacks goals hopefully he helps in this department,

I think you might be right sadly but will be interesting to see what comes of Hawkshaw as he seems to have totally fallen out of favour too and this seems a like-for-like replacement. For what it's worth I'd rather both Roberts and Hawkshaw got game time over Roy, Thomson and Wedderburn who, for whatever reason, seem to be the only subs Murray is willing to bring on.
