Re crowd at Motherwell Cup game at NB in 2007, BBC Sport says crowd was 5924.  Crowds exceeding 8000 at NB very rare. Think we got one against Celtic in our 1-0 League Cup victory in the late 90s when Marvin Wilson scored from the spot. Not sure that we have ever had a full house (i.e 10000) not even when we beat Morton in 2004 in our championship winning season.

Positives all round - manager stuck with the same team minus Gallagher - not trying to be clever and keeping continuity  -  ( see Montrose trying to be too clever - not at this standard) .  A few nice moves early on creating chances , Rovers having a few chances   but a  lovely first goal  from us- Roberts starts it and finishes it - cutting stuff.   Rovers going for it second half - looked like a poor goal  to concede  but heads importantly heads didn't go down  - we went for it -  and well deserved  goals thereafter. Thought Kyle McDonald  and Callum Smith were excellent but  Sean Crighton was a stand out - everything you want in a club captain and more .

Didn’t notice the attendance. Always had it in my head it was over 8k. Wishful thinking maybe.

Crighton has been superb all season, even early on in the season when we were poor he was still putting in performances. It's got to the point where he probably doesn't get the credit he deserves because we are used to it.

Crighton has been excellent, ideal defender at this level.

Kerr could learn a lot from him, hopefully add those additional skills to his undoubted technical skills.

Just sitting thinking about the huge difference in our play since the Montrose game. Who would have thought that we would have looked so energetic, pacey, and dangerous back then?

Amazing turnaround and whilst we can't be brilliant in every game I'm now as sure as I can be that we'll finish in the play off spots.

I remember at the time thinking crowd was higher than reported. 3 stands were full

Two Rangers games,Celtic at Home 1-0 Airdrie
Think when we won the league there was about 5-6k crowd

3 of our goals yesterday came from long throws, plus Carrick's near goal. It's starting to cause teams real problems, Rovers couldn't deal with it at all. Even if you don't win the initial header you are likely to get a 2nd or 3rd phase attack from it, which is what happened with the 3rd and 4th goals yesterday.

Being picky, I still feel we are missing a trick with our corners and free-kicks given how much chaos we cause with the long throws. It's at the stage where I'd rather have a throw by the corner flag than a corner. If we could just get the delivery and tactics right for attacking corners we could be absolutely lethal from set-pieces.

Overall, although we looked weaker without Gallagher it's good to see the structure of the team wasn't affected. The players are performing much more consistently now due to playing regularly every week in the same position. We have pace and a threat from out wide, and energy from midfield, perfectly shown by Roberts' goal where ran the full length of the pitch to support the attack. Hopefully get a good draw to look forward to.

Really enjoyed it yesterday. To win 4-1 and not have really played as well as we can was good. Scrappy game at times and you could tell we miss Gallagher. Roy is a different type of player, wants to run into passes, where as Gallagher is much better at holding the ball up and bringing others into play. Roberts was superb. His pass to get Smith away and then to get up the park and onto the end of it to finish the move with a lively dink over the keeper was excellent. Special mention to Smith too. Worked his socks off again and his return pass for Roberts goal was beautifully threaded between two defenders. Captain Crichton really responded well after the OG. What better way to redeem yourself than with a couple of thunderous strikes that any forward would be proud of. Great day.

Hearts away from home. I'd say a slim outside chance of progressing, but there certainly is one, given their problems.

Tricky tie but wouldn't write us off given How poor Hearts have been this year. And a good away day even if we don't progress. Look forward to it.

Good to see Sean Crighton in the SPFL team of the week. Been great to see Airdrie players get in there on a regular basis over the last few weeks. Keep that trend going for this weekend hopefully

Latest Podcast up. Need to get a monthly catchup with the panel done but not sure how to cope with victories galore.

For the moment, all you ever wanted to know about East Fife ahead of the big clash
